I have a question, though its interview related.. As I'm seeing many forums in VJ many are being approved at interview a few are denied too. But as I met my husband on FB through a common friend almost 5 years back, will that really be a problem that we met in fb? Like the officer can have problem with that? Its bothering me for a long time.

This is not an issue at all. I met my significant other online as well 3-4 years ago. As long as your relationship is genuine there is nothing to worry about.

Bear in mind there are people who does sham marriage and they are the few bad apples that could potentially get a denial.

Meeting your partner online is not an issue. If it will make you feel better, I met my wife online as well 3-4 years ago.

We cannot be ignorant of the fact that people still practice sham marriages just to be able to go to certain countries, I suppose these are the ones whom are likely to get a denial based on the Interviewers psychological detection of several elements of doubt/Discrepancies.

As long as your marriage is genuine there is nothing to be worried about. Even if you are asked a question and you cold no answer due to tension, The truth can be seen through you....

Just called NVC to inquire about our potential interview date (Yes I know Canada is one of the lasts to schedule, but why not?).... the lady told me our CC was the 19th-- which is odd because we saw 3 n/a's on the 11th and I even called to confirm, and we received the CC email on the 19th.

But she said it will most likely be another 2 weeks before I get an interview date- but can be up to 60 days! This wait is dragging onnn. Congrats to all of those with interview dates, and good luck to those attending! :goofy:

Yaay got my Police Clearance Certificate done today. They stamped my passport on the spot and gave me the certificate from the passport office ? Ready for NVC now! ??

Have you gotten your birth certificate? Marriage Certificate? Have you lived anywhere else other than India since the age of 16? If so, and you lived there for more than 1 year, you need to try and get PCC from there as well. Made copies of the biographic page of your unexpired Passport?

Remember, PCC isn't the only thing required from the Beneficiary.

Thank you! Wow, i am SO excited! Yes, i know it might still be a bit of a wait to get the Case No. and IIN but wohoo...one step closer :goofy:

Congratulations!! you're on your way slowly but Shirley! I say wait a week and start calling. you never know, they may your case and IIN ready in a week. I couldn't wait and started calling 4 days after they confirmed receipt of my petition. exactly 7 days after they received it they had my case number and IIN. so I say start calling in a week!

during the interview everyone will have to prove theirs is a bonafide marriage. don't compare your case to someone else's and get yourself stressed out. I know specifically for Mumbai, some luck out and aren't asked any questions or asked for proof, others are asked tons of questions and the CO looks at every proof that's brought in. My husband spoke with a friend of his that went through an interview at Mumbai....he was asked "if you speak with your wife so often, what is her phone number?" the guy had to provide the phone number (and since you're not allowed to bring your phone or anything electronic into the embassy, he had to provide it by memory). the CO then passed that number to someone behind him who proceeded to call the number. you have to be honest and prepared. if they ask you how you met, say FB...don't lie. just be prepared with proof to show your marriage is real and not a sham just to get to the US.

Nah! Never ever even lived outside my city. Till now from birth Im living in the same city same country same house LOL! Yes i submitted all documents even the biographic pages of both of my passports and visas to USCIS too. I know they need to be sent to NVC too. M worrying too much maybe my bad habit as everyone says :(

Wanted my husband to shift to India, but his family doesn't want that so that's why I'm shifting ? Well honestly I cant tell my husband's number because he used to call me in vonage all the time and now it's whatsapp. But well I need to know everything obviously. And we have submitted a short story of us where we already mentioned aboyt FB to USCIS. So i will never hide ?

Can I ask where you read about the AP for Nigeria please?

Honestly I can't find now. But things like these are freaking me out.

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

We are not approved yet but surely they will. My first and foremost advice is that you have your evidence like pictures and communications sent during USCIS OR NVC stage.

During our (My husband) interview, he was asked these following questions

Who is the petitioner

Have you been to the US

When last we met

How many times have you been to Nigeria

When last he saw my parent (Because my parents just came back from the US I GUESS)

We are still at AP now because the Consular need to go check our facebook i guess. because hubby told me she asked for his facebook name and also kept all our chat communications.

I hope this review will be helpful. so also before our interview i read someone review about remembering to print Ds260 confirmation page so please dont forget that. UPDATE your facebook page and make it public that is my advice. please please say a prayer for us.

Good luck

If I find I will surely post. Cause I remember reading that twice/thrice.

So sorry it was rather New Delhi ?

Review Topic: General Review

K1 Embassy Interview

Horrendous Experience.

Inappropriate Questioning to beneficiary. Race, Gender, Age, and Human Rights Violation and Discrimination.

The CO Assistant had the mobile phone retrieved from the beneficiary's Father who was waiting outside. No mobile phones are allowed in the building. She called random family members from the phone without permission to do so. This is illegal.

The CO Assistant used Facebook as a means of ineligibility. Facebook is not a legal binding document or letter of intent to marry.

No one from the Embassy has responded to my requests for information.

You've come a long way. Hang in there and keep us posted. Question for you; did you file EP?

No I did not. When I initially sent the documents in November 2015, EP was taking just as long, if not longer, than regular filing. So I just mailed all the forms, then magically through December EP caught up- so when I received my checklist DEC 31st I had to continue through regular processing not EP sadly.

Oh they were approved 2 weeks after interview. One thing you have to realize is that there is AP and then there's the one we dread AP.

Many AP's is just for the embassy to do some quick Administrative work there's no issues or that people forgot a document or they need more info. That is normal and nothing to dread.

Who cares if they ask for your Facebook ID. I don;t know why people freak out when total strangers can look most of us up send us invites look at our pics.

The other AP can take weeks, to months to years that's the endless black hole the abyss.

Sorry for my idiotic questions ?
