I called NVC just now and asked the lady on the phone to review my Choice of Agent form. She put me on hold for a minute then said she can't review it yet because the form hasn't been sent out to me yet. I told her I completed and submitted it last night, even have a confirmation email about it. She just repeated herself.

What does that mean? why was I able to submit it and get a confirmation email about completing it if it wasn't "sent to me yet?" Anyone know what she means? I'll probably call again tonight to see if someone else tells me something different. Was I supposed to wait to get a Welcome email from NVC before doing the DS-261? I have my case# and IIN# and it was available online so not sure why I would have to wait.

Thoughts?

Sorry I am flying IN to Canada. My Husband is the foreign one (:

What country are you filing from?

While our I-130 was being processed my husband and I flew in to Florida from Canada together to be here for my Nephews birth , we told the TSA man that we were filing for my husbands green card, and we had only expected to be here for 2 months, the gentleman gave my husband a 6 month visitor visa and we took full advantage of it (:

Hey, how is it going? Quick question for you...I was told to avoid traveling to the US until the petition process is over (even with proof of ties). Were you told otherwise? I ran into issues last time I traveled at US Customs and the officer was quiet tough. Just wanted to see if you can share your experience on traveling. Thanks

Oh geez...I hope we don't run into any trouble. Myself and my husband and kids are flying into the US next week for my cousins wedding for two weeks. Hubby's scan date is 8th of Jan. I'm hoping for a CC before we go too. But I figured since its a short visit and we have to come back for his interview anyway, that it will be ok. I hope....

I hope they won't give you a headache. I don't know if it's related to the fact that I was born outside Canada (my parents decided to that with me alone but not with my siblings...sigh) but I was almost told off. I had officers questioning me for 3 hours. I don't know how I managed to keep a nonchalant attitude.

Here's what you should do and this is based on the experiences I had, I highly suggest you go prepared to the airport (bring all ties with you: mortgage, pay stub, bills with your name on them or any proof that show you have ties where you currently live). Take all the immigration paperwork, the invitation card you received and make sure you all have return tickets within the same issued reservation. If your kids are in school, bring report cards. It may sound crazy but better prepared than being refused entry. Good luck!!

No, it doesn't sound crazy. I planned to bring proof with me anyway. Though, that's a good idea to being the wedding invite too. I hadnt thought of that. We are all travelling together on the one itinerary. And myself and the kids are all USC. It's just Hubby who isnt. If we get a CC, I hope to bring that documentation as well to show that were trying to do everything by the book. Fortunately, immigration is on the Dublin side before we get to the US, and I sort of know one of the officers who works there. I just hope we get him.

Scan Date Dec 6 Electronic Processing. Called in to find out I received a checklist for my husbands birth certificate. All they can say is that it wasn't sent. Prior to emailing the documents i have read several complaints about this. so we made sure not to only send original but to also go out of our way and get the original certified copy. We have sent in both the original copy and the certified copy get this not once but twice. NVC is really testing our patience.

Okay I don't know if its nepotism or not but Hallelujah I got Case Complete.

Best part was I saw the 3 NA's covered my mouth, my husband thought I bit my tongue. I showed him what I was seeing on my phone and he gave me a big hug and kiss and said "Baby we did it".

Scan date 1/4. Today is day 36.

My timeline is jacked and trying to get the admin Captain Ewok to fix it.
