Hi, I really need some advice regarding my visa application. Here's my story:

I moved to the US on a scholarship in 2010. I graduated in 2015 and successfully got my opt/EAD card and a job. My grandmother died and I had to come back. My visa had expired and I had a new passport. I booked an appointment to renew my visa stamp. It got declined/pended due to me needing a UK police certificate and I got advised to a medical panel because I got arrested in 2011 for public intoxication. I did not get convicted but it's obviously still on record. I got my police certificate which was all clear and I saw the physician. I then got an email from the embassy saying I can send in my passport for visa issuance. However, during my interview the officer took all my documents, including my valid OPT I-20. They handed back my passport saying they would email me when I can send it in. However, they did not give me back my I-20. When they send me back my passport, hopefully with a visa stamp, will they also return my OPT I-20. I have every other document imaginable down to my EAD card and offer of employment/pays slips. I'm just wondering why they kept my I-20 as I will need this to travel back if/when they return my passport with my visa? Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks
