Hey guys,

I am on the close to putting together my package and I have a few little questions:

1) My wife's name today is 4 names long, so I assume the her "Middle" name is both her 2nd and 3rd name. If so, it won't fit when typed.

Also her maiden name is 6 names long, and her name from a previous marriage is 7 names long. So I assume that in the "OTHER NAMES USED" field I will have to write her full 7-long name. Which also doesn't fit in the amount of characters given. What is the protocol for information that doesn't fit a certain field? I found another thread on here but couldn't understand what to do.

2) I am the USC and live in Brazil with my wife and filing from here, what do I write in the field "Address in the US where your relative intends to live"? We plan on living with a couple of friends in Seattle, but its not yet set in stone, should we just use that address?

3) At the very end of the I-130 first page we have "INITIAL RECEIPT", "RESUBMITTED", "RELOCATED", ETC... Should we mark anything on that or is that for the USCIS?

Thanks for the help!

Well,

1- i've just filled my papers, so as I had the same issue with the long name stuff, I called USCIS and was told to just write in a spare sheet, identifing the field number, dating and signing this paper

2- I think another more experienced person should help you better

3- It's for the USCIS

Good luck with your process :)

Faz sentido! hehe

I have another question... how do you identify each piece of evidence of marriage? (plane tickets, hotel stays, joint account, car insurance, etc), do you just put a post-it note on each paper? do you make a little cover page for each piece of evidence (eg.: "Plane tickets of our trip to São Paulo")... you catch my drift... Thanks!

I think a post it (i'd wrap paper around the pieces and write on it, or envelop them just in case a post it get lost in the package) would do. Doesn't matter how you do as long as you do identify them

OK I did find an answer to (1) "The above forms can be filled out on your computer and printed. Make sure you sign and date them as required. Anything you cannot fit by typing, you can handwrite (very neatly) in black ink in the blank instead." So I already have two different options for that problem... If I can fit it in neatly in blank ink I'll do that, if not I'll use the extra blank sheet.

Still no answer on what address to use in the field for US address my wife intends to live since we are filing from abroad. :(

I have a couple questions still:

1) I didn't see a requirement on the USCIS website for the intending immigrants birth certificate, but apparently it's expected? So that's something I will have to have translate professionally (and expensively) trnaslated... but it's ok I just with the USCIS would list this as a requirement so I could have done it before...

2) How do people organize their vast collection of evidence of bonafide marriage? I've seen people say they use post-it notes and stuff, I think it's risky. Can I use stickers instead? also can I use transparent plastic sleeves? Can I use the stickers on the sleeves and on the documents themselves? What other suggestions do you have?

3) So I have been gathering my evidence of marriage and so far this is what I have, is it enough? And DO I HAVE TO TRANSLATE ALL OF IT???

- Translated marriage certificate.

- Tickets from 3 trips we made together; to São Paulo (Dec/2014), Fortaleza(feb/2015) and Miami (aug/2015). (all these hotel stays and reservations are in my name alone  )

- Several money transfers from in between our accounts.

- A statement from the hospital that I accompanied her at her medical procedure.

- Print from facebook showing Posts of ourselves with friends' likes and comments.

- Prints of periodic chats on facebook (one from every week).also a print showing we have over 11,000 messages sent on fb.

- 30 photos or so of us on trips and with friends and family in different events

- Affidavits from my mom, dad and my brother.

- Confirmation of a hotel reservation in both our names.

- Contract we just signed selling her apartment.

- Proof that I have paid some of her bills. (non-utility)

- Proof that she received the keys to our apartment that is rented to my name.

- Proof the car I bought is now in her name (I don't have proof that I transfered just the previous and current document)

- Proof that she accompanied me to the consulate to renew my passport.

- Proof that I took out an insurance in her name for our trip to the US.

- Proof of tickets to concerts bought together (Elvis Presley Cover, Michael Jackson Cover and... well.... the backstreet boys  )

I'm still in the process of trying to work out further evidence, and also I'm opening a bank account in our names in the US.
