My fiance had his interview Jan 28 2016, then he was provided a white paper stating to wait 60 days, but he was approved and placed on AP. He was contacted by email today and asked to come pick up his passport. We are hopeful he was approved. What you do you think? Can you pick them up on Saturdays?

What does your case status say on the ceac.dtate.gov site?

Did they say pick up at embassy or visa center?

It advised to pick up at one of the visa centers on the AP form.

Hope this means we have it, i just checked https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx and it said "issued", and he was emailed to come pick it up.

Hello GraphicLove!

If the site says 'issued,' and you got an email from the embassy to pick up his passport, it means he's been approved -- CONGRATULATIONS!!! The email should tell you where to pick up. Don't think they open on Saturdays though.

Congratulations again!

Best!

Congratulations. That's what we want to hear. Issued and the Visa Center means you are approved. :goofy:

Thank you all from us. We have been going through this process since August 2015. We have been in this relationship since Dec 2012. We are looking forward to doing great things together. Do you all know if we have to pay for a green card before he gets to America? If so what's the cost?

Since yours is a K-1, you will file for adjustment of status when you get to the U.S and after that a green card will be issued Conditionally.

There's no green card until you get married first in those 90 days than file to adjust status. The cost is $1070. Takes about 6 months to a year to get green card. If you file the EAD that comes usually 60 to 90 days where you are than authorized to work.

Read the guides on adjustment of Status from a K1.
