I wouldn't expect anything to open up on Saturday or Sunday, because the Embassy is closed. They are open Mon-Fri 8am-5pm. I would start checking again in 12 hours.

What Chris said is true.

Last time they released dates was in January, once around noon time in China and once around 6pm in China. Both on a Friday.

So the only time there would be slot open would be when someone else canceled their appointment, but we all know that's unlikely.

I got ours for my fiance on Jan 14th, which was Jan 15th (friday) in China.

I believe next batch would be the week starts on Mar 14th, because the week for Mar 8,9,10 was released on Jan 22nd.

Do you know if any dates were opened up on January 29th. I know nothing was opened from February 5th and after.... So if no dates were opened on Jan 29 then you're probably right about March 14-16th....

I just hope maybe they will release some dates tomorrow (Monday)..... This has been a long journey....

Yes, that is normal.

The Calendar does not show up until there are appointments available. You will know when appointments are available because there will be a notification on the left side just below the sidebar menu on the CGIFEDERAL website.

Has anyone been successful in scheduling a CR1 visa interview? I have been trying for more than 3 months (up to 10 times a day). I have seen people get K1 (non-immigrant) visa interviews, which are treated differently than CRI (immigrant visa), but no news on anyone getting CR1 immigrant visa interview. Thanks.

I have seen date notifications on the left hand side of the webpage several times, but never a calendar. I am assuming those "notifications" are only for non-immigrant vis interviews. I have called CGI during these times (when dates pop up on the left hand side), and they have said they are not able to schedule a CR1 interview.

Just keep checking, but keep in mind, from the only person responding to this thread that has seen appointment dates released, they saw them released on Fridays. Just remember the people on VJ are an extremely small subset of appointment seekers. The embassy is constantly booked solid on appointment dates. The best you can do is keep trying.

doesn't mean it's not utterly stupid. this is me being a self-centered #######, but our case is open and shut. i have a 4" binder absolutely full of everything they could possibly want, everything has been done and waiting there for nearly a month now. this is about a 5 minute interview. we would go do the health check right now if we could too. the case itself is being treated as an expedited case even in the DCF process, but when it comes to the interview, everyone's hands are tied until i have a date in the system that they can modify. just makes me want to pull someone's hair out.... checking it everyday every hour every half hour morning noon and night... just because we cannot afford to miss the next release of appointments. it's impossible even for CGI, i had a supervisor on, he tried to the point where they broke something and had to nuke/reset the account. limitations in their garbage salesforce-based system.

It's not just marriage, Guangzhou handles all immigrant visas. Parents, brothers and sisters, ect.. And visajourney is a very very small subset of the applicants. There are other sites out there that are similar to VJ, some even dedicated to China. And many other people use lawyers and never visit these sites, you can expect that they handle over 100 interviews a week easily. If you look at J&Y's picture, Next to the 7:45 interview time slot, they had "可用的" which means number of appointments available at that time, and they took the picture after appointments were already scheduled, so logically, they may even handle between 5 and 10 interviews per timeslot, in 30 minute intervals through the day. Plus they aren't just interviewing Immigrant Visa requests, they are also doing B2, H1B, J1, and many other Visa Interviews.
