Congratulations! Regarding, "bring what they ask for," can you direct me to the true official list of what is being asked for? I was confused because visajourney seems to recommend providing your fiance with the entire I-129F packet. This seems a little cumbersome for him to carry in with him. Of course he'll do it if it's actually recommended, but I thought the official list of things to bring was just the financial support stuff, his DS-160 confirmation page, passport, medical results, and proof of ongoing relationship.

The P4 will state what materials to bring. Having more than they ask for during your interview can only help your case. For example, they will ask for the most recent W2 with the I-134...however, if you have 3 years of tax returns then bring it anyways. Keep items organized so you can quickly access them, no one wants to see an applicant with a stack of unorganized papers.

Quick question-- we got an email soon after submitting P3, which gave instructions and said to bring it to the interview, but we never got another physical letter. Is that email P4, or should I be concerned we didn't get a letter? Thanks! Interview scheduled for May 12!

Now that everything with us is done, everything in hand, and we have our new life back in murrka started.

I will just say that if you want to avoid hassles down in GZ, just stay at the 4 seasons, you can get discount cards online if you know how to look. We had a riverside suite on the 93rd floor for like 1000 a night. My wife was cool as a cucumber going in, because she actually got to rest and relax and not worry about traffic. Great beds too, will probably be the best night of sleep you will ever have in China.

We just got our case number and invoice number from the NVC. They told me to wait until we hear from the embassy in China. We've been collection documents for the next step.

So for now, do we wait until we hear from Guangzhou? Will they schedule our appointment or can we do that now? I read on here about trying to schedule through the website, but I'm not sure where to do that! My fiance hasn't done his medical exam yet because we are waiting for the 1st package.

Is there anything else we can do in this waiting time to speed up the process? We have planned our wedding for December so I really hope everything can be finished by then!

hijadedios88, so we have a better understanding of the process you are going through. If you are pursuing the K-1 visa they will not schedule for you, you must schedule yourself. If you are pursuing the IR1/CR1 the NVC will request additional information from you and they will schedule the interview for you.

The first step for Guangzhou if you are pursuing a K-1 visa is to prepare the following.

1. 2x Passport style photos approximately 50mmx50mm full color photos with a white background where the face and eyes are clear without reflection or obstruction.

2 .Have your fiance(e) photocopy the Personal Page of their Passport (the page with their picture and information)

3. Complete the DS-160 form here https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/ (print out the confirmation page in English)

4. Wait for Packet 3 to arrive via EMS (delivery takes around 30-40 days). Packet 3 will have a page that needs to be mailed to the Consualte with the other 3 items above.

After Packet 3 is mailed back you will wait for packet 4 to be emailed to you. Do not, I repeat do not schedule your interview on the ustraveldocs website until you receive Packet 3, or mail Packet 3 back, as you are only allowed a limited number of reschedules.

You can get a headstart on Packet 4 using the information in the album I created, but refrain from scheduling the medical exam until you finish packet 4 and are ready to schedule your interview.

I cannot answer about the IR1/CR1 because I did not file for this Visa.

No Problem, psst.. your timeline shows the consulate as Armenia. I recommend updating to the correct consulate to aid in the VJ forum timelines that help people know approximately how long their consulate will take for Visa processing.
