I am currently on OPT, working fulltime for CVS Health.

I will get married in May and My wife is planning to apply for F2, while I am still on OPT.

Is this a good idea?

How often you have seen visas in such scenarios getting approved?

Please share, will really really really appreciate it.

Thanks.

rarely...because....why would she return to Bangladesh? You clearly are not going to, so why would she?

When you applied for the F1, you likely told the CO that your wife was not going to accompany you...yet now, she wants to...(you cannot have it both ways)...I would not expect her F2 to be approved, because there is a ZERO chance that she could convince the CO that she will be returning to Bangladesh since you are not going to either....(and please, don't even bother with the typical excuse offered...'oh, my parents are old and sick and I have to return to take care of them...."....yet, she could leave them for some amount of time now.....any attempts to gain sympathy will fail.

Thank you for your input.

She is currently in Bangladesh. We were planning to apply for F2 based on the following scenario:

I am on going to apply for H1B, rather I will stay on OPT extension. I thought she will say that - My husband will work during her OPT extension only and then return. He did not even apply for H1B as you can see in your record. He only wants to get some work experience and return and teach in Bangladesh. In the meantime, I want to be with him.

Does this sound convincing? Please share your input/experience.

And, how about F1?

So, you are saying establishing the TIE to return is important.

When I came on f1 , I established the TIE based on which returning to BD fact was established. She will use the same TIE.

Any other input

or

ANy other reason you think this can be denied?

All sorts of reasons a visa can be denied but what other option do you have?

Presenting the facts as they are.. that is, being truthful, is what matters.

I've seen plenty of forums threads where many a F1s turn into OPT\CPT, which lead to H1bs.. and GCs. Or F2s turning into F1s or H1bs. Suddenly, those ties to home country disappear as soon as i-797 is in the mail..
