how come some people get their green card without an interview and some people have to get an interview done? does it mean anything?

the reason for that is that some people pray harder than others...

just kidding, it just happens that a lot of people who's files get transfered to the california service center (CSC) get their GC without an interview. nobody really knows why some get transfered there and others do not.

True. I filed mine in August 2004, interviewed in Oct. 2005 and received my CGC after that. Yes, we waited for over a year for that and we still had to do an interview. Before my interview, I've read about some VJ members who filed their AOS in the same district office but their case was transferred to CSC and was approved w/o interview. I asked the adjudicating officer about this and she said that they've been swamped with AOS cases lately that they had to transfer the load to somewhere else.

I guess I didn't make that cut-off, but I'm not complaining, because later on when I filed my N-400 it took only about 2.5 months from the day I filed it to my oath, I was told they weren't as busy when it comes to N-400 applications.
