My husband had his medical yesterday. He said he has to get another shot next week when he picks up his paperwork. I'm thinking they just need to check his TB test/ and he is confused as to what they're doing. Did anyone have to get another shot a week later?

At the medical they gave my husband 2 shots, and when he picked up results they didn't need to check anything additional. Did they tell him what shot he would be getting when he returned?

Hello and congratulations! My finance will be having his medical exam March 15 and im hoping his will go just as quickly as ur husbands. However im worried after reading some of the post here. Some stating their husbands had to see a psychiatrist after admitting to using marijuana in the past. I'm curious as to how ur husband answered and or the outcome. It has been almost two long years and I'm overwhelmed with this process and just want him home without anymore hiccups.

They will ask at the medical if you've ever used before and just as Pinkrlion stated, and they will also go off of physical signs of drug use, and I believe they do a urine test. My husband does not use so that was not an issue for us, but he stated there were other guys there that admitted drug use or doctor determined that they had used before or recently. It also weighed heavy on me prior to my husbands medical, even though he doesn't use, a lot of the people he worked with and would be around did, and I hoped that wouldn't effect him and thank God it didn't. I know if you test positive or admit to prior use it is usually a 6 month to 1 year ban and you'll have to see the psychiatrist which cost an additional $150.00 (that's what I've seen on the boards).... My husband did say that all the people that work at Andrews were polite and very positive so it made the experience easy and not stressful at all... Hoping all will go well for your husband and there will be no delay in him making his way to you :)!

During my husbands medical exam, they did not request a urine sample, is this normal? From what I've heard, they get blood & urine!

Hi Tryjahluv1101, I asked my husband about your question and he stated that the doesn't believe he got a urine test either. He might have only gotten a blood test done and then the physical exam so I don't think there is anything to be concerned about.

That's great! I was a wreck the day before and the morning of my husbands interview, so nervous until I heard from him... wishing you all the best and praying you'll be united with your loved one soon :)!

I have a question though it has nothing to do with the medical I was hoping you could shed some light on. If one has a clean record that was done back in September 2015 would they have to go back again to get another if it's less than a year old even if the record is still clean? We are trying to save as much as possible and not spend anything extra we don't have to as I plan to have my wife accompany me to the interview and we have no idea what ticket costs will be like as we haven't gotten an interview date as yet.

Thanks in advance

I'm honestly unsure, but I think they are good for 1 year... they may require you to get another one though since it has been 6 months and I've heard on other post not Jamaica specific that after 6 months you need a new police certificate. But since the actual certificate says valid for 1 year I think you should be fine unless told otherwise.
