It's 23:40 here. My head is going in to overdrive now and I've thought of something else.

On our forms - I-130/I-485 etc - we've put my in-law's address in Idaho. My husband contracts and right now we're in a hotel, we don't know how long the contract will last since he's aviation and they're as consistent as the Army at sticking to the original plan we've found. Okay, so address is in Idaho and the contract is in Washington state. We have a mailbox up here at the UPS store but we can't use it as, sadly, we aren't small enough to live in a mailbox . . . The office for interview that we selected, where the forms ask, is only 2 hours away in Spokane. It's covered by the Idaho offices, I checked. But what about things like biometrics? Will they send us to Idaho? Is there a way to have it scheduled for up here if they do? I'm getting a bit worried now.

The biometrics are often at locations different to an interview office. Use this locator and the in-laws zip code to see where you will be assigned https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=offices.type&OfficeLocator.office_type=ASC

Also look up the location for your current address.

Some people have been successful walking in to a different location, showing their appointment letter, and being served. You can try walking in on a date earlier than your actual assigned appointment date and explaining the situation. The ASC offices can be fairly casual places stuck in a shopping center.
