A 28-year-old man carrying two handguns, ammunition and a copy of the Koran was arrested on Thursday trying to enter the New York Hotel in Disneyland Paris, according to a French police official.

The man's partner fled as he was being arrested. She remains at large. A woman at the park was detained, police believing she was the partner of the arrested man but was later released when authorities realised they had the wrong person.

Security guards spotted the firearms, which were concealed in the man’s bag, as his luggage went through an X-ray machine. One of the guns was an automatic, according to an Interior Ministry official.

Obviously.

Surprised HuffPo did not lead with this.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Not a real muslim.

This guy arrested by the FBI before he could massacre 30 people also wasn't a real muslim. Sure, he said that "nobody can play with Muslims" , but I actually met a muslim once and he was a pretty nice guy, so now I have the inside scoop on what motivates the other billion and a half of them.

Yeah I know about all Muslims because I had some Muslim friends and they even gave me some gifts. One time I got a nice briefcase clock. It's the most handy little thing especially for standing in line. Like the time I was in starbucks and running late and when I checked the time it was like magic, everybody left.

Handy gift. Those are the Real Muslims, who give gifts like that. Not the ones who follow the religion, no, those are the posers who make the Real Muslims look bad.

I don't really know how those who argue gun free zones are stupid. People who don't feel the need to carry a gun everywhere are foolish and begging to be victimized. Guns are the best way to protect yourself.

All of the above are constant themes. Worded various ways but constantly insisted upon.

This OP has a gun aficionado with not just one but two guns going into a gun free zone. Seems like this guy would be doing the right thing and protecting himself in a much maligned gun free zone.

Oh wait, he had a Quaran.

In this case the gun free zone has a name - France.

I knew there had to be a reason why not a single person from the left was having a problem with this story...

I guess we could dig up the thread about the poor slob caught bringing his trusty rifle to the airport. It's amusing to see how that wasn't a big deal, a bum rap for that guy, but this incident is somehow different. I can only surmise because he wasn't also carrying a Quaran. Certainly the usual suspects in both threads are now taking polar opposite stances for essentially the same type of situation.

What is different? One rifle vs two pistols. And, oh ya, this guy had a Quaran. And, of course, the very different and conflicting responses.

I have a hard time believing the French would allow a rifle.
