Hi,

I'm currently in the US on J1 visa and I have my DL till the end of May. I am gonna get married before my visa expires. But the question is, am I eligible to drive after my DL expires or could I apply for temporary Licence? I just need to cover the period while I will be waiting for work permit.

Thank you for help.

You won't be able to drive with the expired license unless you can prove to the DMV your extreme hardship that requires you to drive. Chances are you can get a temp license for a short time and ask DMV directly.

As far as I understand, the immigration status or the interim while undergoing the adjustment does not permit you drive without a valid DL so you need to ask DMV directly.
