My wife will be leaving soon to see her family in Vietnam. She still has her Vietnamese passport so I would assume that will be all she needs to enter Viet, and her green card to come back into the US. Is this correct? Any suggestions as she will be traveling alone, I am unable to get off work.

I actually wasnt sure about this but from what I read, it will delay hercitizenship. I read it that you have to be in the US continously for 3 years. My wife's friend said she can't leave the US to visit home. But I was meaning to ask this, just never had the time. I too would like to know if she can use her VN passport to reenter VN

False. You can travel for short time periods < 6mos and wouldnt travel close to your application. But you can leave the country.

You read wrong stuff. She can make visits abroad; just don't leave for more than 6 months if US citizenship is a goal.

She does not have to be in the US continuously for 3 years. She has to maintain residency in the US for 3 years. Different things.

Don't take advice from your wife's friend.

Your wife is leaving for VN, and you are just not getting to this? Got to be a bit more proactive to help and protect yourself.

As stated earlier, she needs her VN passport to enter VN. She will not be allowed on the plane without it.

My wife is not, i was just reading it online and I was wondering just as well as the OP. I wasnt sure if she can leave the country, that's why I asked. I am in no shape or form to give false advice to the OP. Sorry if I wasn't clear.

Be sure to double check the airline's rules around having either the credit card used to purchase the ticket, or alternatively, a letter. Best of luck!
