One of the first nominees for the 2016 Darwin awards brings new meaning to distracted driving. I guess we need a law to prohibit porn watching while driving now and add in road head for good measure.

Back when I used to drive taller vehicles like the Chevy Tahoe, I once witnessed a woman driving along I75 north of Detroit weave all over the three lanes. When I finally felt it safe to pass her, I saw her with her hand down her pants. Couldn't tell if she was finished as I just wanted to put some distance between us.

Very often on the way home at night I see this. The car on the interstate slows down from 65 to 50 or less. Starts weaving all over the lane. When I pull around to pass, they are on their cell phone.

Maybe we should allow victims to sue the cell phone maker.

Supposedly there is a device police can use to tell if someone is texting. Sort of like a texting radar. I assume this wil only work for cars with a single occupant.

They actually obtain this info directly from the cell Carrier. In the late '90s it was a paper subpoena process. Now, it is a direct computer link. Carriers bill the requesting Agency for every info request.

The only issue with this is it can only tell if the phone is texting, but not who is texting. My wife often uses my phone to send texts while I am driving.
