Just file i-130 as soon as you can.. once you file i-130, you can always keep track of the progress by calling the service center.. Read "Wiki" page to understand the process.. If any Bangladesh specific question you can always ask here.. you can go visit BD anytime you want..

Please provide your timeline once you file i-130..

I do have another question regarding my husband's g-325a form. His address in Bangladesh is very long and he's used two columns to write it.. Is this okay? I also wrote his address in places lived in past 5 years and had to write very small and make two rows in one column. And in his form status as permanent resident should be checked and in mine other specify in support of I-130 should be put of I'm not mistaken? Thanks again and I will get my timeline going soon. Hoping I will get packet in the mail by next week if I receive all letters by then.

Just tried a pdf filler and it makes address fit fine so may just use it. However I noticed when trying to do the part of the i -130 using the pdf filler it removes akar and okar on the place where it says to write your relatives name and foreign address in their native alphabet so looks like that may have to just be sent in hand filled afterall.

Ha ha ha with akar and okar :-)

Ummmm if you have anything that doesn't fit in the form (no matter what you do), you can send seperate sheet with the exact question and the full answer as attachment. Answer to the form should refer to your attachment.

In terms of what could you consider as additional documents as proof beside what USCIS asked for? The system basically tries to judge if your marriage was authentic and wasn't a sham. So whatever realistically makes sense. For example: I used to call my wife via a private VOIP provider so I have the calling history (from what to what number, duration and etc), I know people send chat history, gift receipts and etc. if you made any trip afterwards the tickets, and etc whatever's can be deemed that you are communicating with your husband like any ordinary marriage. Nothing outrageous is needed.

This will be a long journey so what both of you will need is planning in advance and patience. It can get frustrating and difficult at times regardless what you do. Make good use of this site. There are good knowledgeable people out there who can answer/suggest you during hard/ difficult time.

Best wishes and good luck.

Thank you. One more question if you don't mind. I've gotten a letter from a relative of mine that has no passport therefore no passport number to provide. Is this okay or would say a driver's license number be okay to use instead or what would be okay?

Is this related to the sworn statement made by two relatives/friends from each side? If yes then those sworn statements need to be notarized and when it is notarized the assumption is identity of the person is duly verified. So whether DL or passport or any other legal document reference should be acceptable.

If No, I am bit lost with the question.

As my forms are nearly ready to send I have looked over them and a question came out regarding my g325a form.

I've viewed the samples on the site but was wondering.. In the bottom field it says Applicant: print your name and alien registration number. I obviously put N/A on the alien registration number bit, but on name should I print my maiden name or marriage name?

Its upto you.. You can use either marriage or maiden name.. Some forms asks specifically for maiden name Or Name in PASSPORT, just use whatever the form asks.. In this case, if you want you can start using your married name.. Just make sure what the question is(Marriage certificate is a valid legal document for name change)

thx

Consistency is the key to avoid RFE (request for evidence), so like outkast states put the name that makes sense, similar to what you on the application. What names do you have in your passport, birth certificate, marriage certificate, and your application? If all of them are with maiden name, chats just fine. If you have changed your name and that's only in marriage certificate I would (my personal preference) would be to apply with your married name.

Looking at different Lausanne may raise confusion but when they will see your husbands name, marriage certificate and your changed last name, it will become apparent.

Good luck with your submission.

In honor of my husband I took his last name. Birth certificate has maiden, state ID and social security card has my marriage name so I'm a bit confused however I did print my marriage name

Yes I did update SSN & my identification card both. I haven't gotten my name updated in passport yet though and to my knowledge birth certificates remain the same with maiden name.

Yes. Birth certificate cannot and shouldn't be update and will carry your name at birth forever.

If you believe you have sufficient documents to submit your I-130, go for it. I am sure you saw the time line and know how long it will take. The monger time will go by with USCIS for I-130 approval, 3-6 months (average is around 4.5). During this time, my suggestion is to look into the next step, NVC phase. Look at all the documents you will need for AOS and IV and start collecting/preparing them from now.. Those forms requires massive amount of personal info as well that you can start collecting so when time comes you can submitmail the documents the day you are being asked. You will be saving enormous amount of time and stress by being prepared.
