Discrepancy on my medical records (Suicide)

I recently underwent my medical in London and I mentioned that I had, in the past experienced anxiety and depression and because of this was asked by the kind doctor who saw me to visit my GP to get a letter stating that, in his words, "i'm not crazy anymore"

My issue is this, on the questionnaire i filled out I said i'd never had suicidal thoughts or attempts. This is true. However, upon visiting the doctor yesterday, she reminded me of the fact that 6 years ago, when I was in a very drastic downward spiral, I told my GP that I HAD tried, because at the time not only did I believe he wouldn't give me medication, but also because I had no friends and my family consider the idea of the family disappointment having depression and anxiety a joke. I just wanted someone to actually be somewhat caring. In the years that followed this I forgot about it, and pushed a large portion of what happened at that time to the back of my mind and I moved on, and got better.

I owned up to what i'd done when I visited the GP yesterday and she understood, however as this was noted on my records she HAS to note it down on the report the embassy doctor requested.

Therefore, on my questionnaire it says I have never had a suicide attempt, but my records show I do. I'm now petrified that a stupid thing I did years ago has scuttled my chances of being with the woman I love and want to spend the rest of my life with. My GP said she'd write the report in a way that said I had a particularly low point and that she has diagnosed me in a perfectly healthy state of mind now.

So, how crippled are my chances? I technically didn't lie, but my past is coming back to haunt me.

If it comes up during your interview, or in the future process, I would answer it like you just did. When you filled out the form,you simply did not remember the incident. I don't know how it will potentially impact your process, but hopefully it will be considered just a lapse in memory. Others may have better advice, but there is not much you can do about it now except for explaining it truthfully.
