Since it's been a few years since I have traveled in Vietnam, does anyone know the current going rate for a shuttle van from SGN airport to the Rach Gia area? The one I was on was a 12 seater, sort of like what the hotels use.

Go to Ben Xe Mien Tay and use Phuong Trang shuttle service (around $15 during New Year). Phuong Trang service is reliable.

call this main number and ask for pick up service number (Xe Trung Chuyen) so you don't have go to Ben Xe Mien Tay 08 3838 6852. They will pick you up up at your spot-hotel, home etc...I dont think they will pick you up at the airport

A private 7 seated SUV service or taxi from HCM to Rach Gia is around $150

This is good to know. I'd rather take a private car instead of being cramped on a bus when my wife and I visit her family in Rach Gia next year.

Not really. Phuong Trang service is good now, they have big bus with beds for longer trips so it is comfy. No more mini vans.

Thanks NancyNguyen. I'm very familiar with the Phoung Trang Futa bus lines with the beds. I actually love taking the 6 hours ride from Saigon to Rach Gia to see all of the scenery, but after the first couple of hours the beds are no longer comfortable for me, because they are to short.
