Financial support in Ukraine

This is killing me.

I make more take home in a day than my GF gets in a month.

But I am also pathological about not lying at the embassy.

I have a couple of Ukrainian friends who have met her and they tell me I am lucky.

There is so much I want for her and her son.

We are going to apply for a B2 so my sisters can meet her (and so we do not ache so much).

If that fails I will move straight to the K-1

Does anybody know how the CO at the embassy looks at financial support to a much younger woman?

I think I know the answer, but I have to ask.

It hurts me so much to not help more.

I can not think it would be any different in Ukraine than it would be anywhere else.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

The COs don't really care about outside financial support....in fact, having a strong financial source in the US can work against female B2 applicants, because, as you said, you make more in an hour than she makes in a week, so what would be her motivation to return to the Ukraine? The track record for Ukrainian women returning instead of changing their minds at baggage claim is poor.

I think it can work against B2 visa because to obtain such kind of visa applicant must show strong ties to the home country and in this case she has way less reasons to come back to the Ukraine.

However, it may even help in case of K1 or CR1 visa because petitioner must prove that he can support foreign spouse financially.

If you're asking about cultural aspect, in RUB relationships between much older man and much younger woman (doesn't matter domestic or foreign man) typically have to involve steady generous financial support from older man so it will not look any unusual.

It would probably be easier to have your sister visit your fiancée than getting the B2.

It's probably just me, but I never felt like I had to financial support my wife during our relationship (it reminds me of the white knight syndrome). All my wife really cared about was for me to visit her as much as I could. Once she got here, I did feel obligated to financial support her especially now that we have children.

I also do realize every relationship is unique, so if it works for you OP then great.

Yeah, everyone is different. I sponsor little kids around the world I have never met in person.

I sponsor people I meet for English lessons. Sometimes I help with medical problems.

It is sad that the person I should not help is the one I might eventually love.

The focus of such help is different when being involved with a B2 visa application.

That's right. Making charitable donations and helping out people in need around the world has nothing to do with giving money to your girlfriend and paying off her mortgage or other expences. I don't think consular officar would consider it as anything related.
