Hi so my interview is very soon and I need a final check on the all documents.

I have gathered the following documents:

Affidavit of support I864ez

DS-260 application and confirmation page

Employment letter (husbands)

Bank letter (husbads)

Courier confirmation letter

Passports

Interview letter

Tax transcripts 2013-2015

Police certificate

Birth certificate

Marriage certificate

4 US size photos (also 2 Uk size) in case they want it

I have made 2 copies of police, marriage, birth certificates and passports photocopy. Do I need to photocopy any other documents like the tax papers or interview letter?

Proof for bona fide relationship I have the following:

Pictures (small album)

Airline tickets

Some of our whatsapp chat

I wasn't born in the Uk but I am a British citizen I heard they give you hard time if you are not a British born??

Do I need any receipts for my medical or any letters they have given me from the Knightsbridge doctors?

I have a hand bag not a small one its a normal one in which I can fit my file and my sons food and diapers and stuff is that okay?

I heard there is a waiting room and people can wait for you there is that true? I mean if I take someone to look after my son there while I am in the interview place.

How many US and UK sizs photos do I need?

What do I need to hand in first so I can be ready. I have all the documents labeled in the file but still want to make sure I am all prepared and organised.

Any tips you guys wana give me then please do!

Sorry for the long post but I really need to know I am taking the correct stuff.

Thank you all so much in advance.

Have you lived in any other county as an adult? If so, you need a police certificate from there too.

Now I'm getting worried about people who are not born in the UK but are British. What problems do they have with that?

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Now a US citizen!

They do not give you a hard time over anything in London. They are very nice. If you were born in the Middle East, Pakistan, India for example there may be extra security checks after the interview, so your visa would not be issued and back to you in the usual 7-10 days.

Proof of relationship needed-- highly unlikely. Nobody is every asked for that

Receipts from Knightsbridge- Nothing. The report they need is couriered to them from the medical office.

Handbag- - not too fussy about that. Will be checked like at airport scanner.

Waiting room-- yes, it Is for the people waiting to be called up for visa interviews. Nobody else gets in without prior approval or their name on the interview letter.

Passport photos-- 1 US size. They scan it and give it back. 0 UK size. The visa is an American document thus American size requirement.

Order of documents-- First is interview letter and passport to get in the door from outside.

Inside, there are windows (like bank tellers behind thick glass) across the wall of the waiting room. When your number is called first time to a window, you will turn in all required documents to the document collector. That person just organizes your papers to send back to an interviewing officer. That will be your UK passport, birth certificate, police certificate, affidavit of support and income proof--latest tax return plus any optional proofs you bring, maybe the DS-260 confirmation (they have the form already), passport photo. When you get called to another window, it may be in a room just behind that row of bank windows. It's a little less noisy off the main waitng room. It's also more bank style windows. That is the actual immigration officer who conducts your interview. He will flip through your file and the documents you already turned in and have a short chat with you to make sure you know your spouse's name, when you got married, or where he works...easy stuff.

Then you leave.
