After Importing 1.1 Million Middle East Migrants in 2015 – Merkel Perplexed by Rise in Anti-Semitism

Jim Hoft Jan 24th, 2016 1:07 pm 50 Comments

Germany, a country of 80 million, received over one million migrants and unvetted “refugees” in 2015. Angela Merkel is expecting another million migrants this year.

In five to seven years the migrants will bring in their family members.

As millions flee war-torn countries where anti-Semitism is rampant, several world leaders are calling on citizens to challenge this hatred everywhere they find it, especially when it comes to young people with anti-Semitic ideologies.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Saturday urged citizens to remain vigilant and to beware of anti-Semitism especially when directed by young people coming from “countries where hatred of Israel and anti-Semitism is widespread.”

Currently, millions of people are claiming to seek refuge throughout Europe as they flee war-battered nations including Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan. 1.5 million refugees including several from throughout the Arab world entered Germany in 2015 alone.

“We have observed in several schools and meeting places (anti-Semitic) events (led) by young people, against which every adult has to act,” Merkel said. “We must also encourage students who think differently.

“We can try to reason (with them) again and again but it should also be clear: (Anti-Semitism) has no place in our society…we must simply put clear limits,” she said.

I don't get it, either. I mean these people are from countries with extremely high rates of anti semitism. Aren't these people forgetting that as soon as they get to Germany and immediately adopting the same views as the German people? It is almost like some of them are taking some of the baggage of the life they knew to their new country, but the pro-immigration left doesn't believe that, so there must be another explanation.

Good luck!

is it about a false belief the 'pro-immigration left' actually holds or is it about how governments approach integration/assimilation?

Link from the same page--and remember this was in November of last year, so Europe was still in a pre-grope mentality.

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/nov/24/swedish-asylum-support-far-right-nationalist-sweden-democrats

The Sweden Democrats (SD), a nationalist party that emerged from the neo-Nazi movement and has been shunned by Sweden’s mainstream parties because of its far-right immigration policies, is now the country’s third-largest party with 49 representatives in parliament.

An opinion poll conducted after the Paris attacks by polling firm Sifo found the SDwould receive 17.6% of the public vote, marking a 4.6 point rise in support since the 2014 elections. This is one of the more conservative estimates of SD popularity, with several pollsters putting it as the largest single party in Sweden.

IMO if Europe's leaders refuse to take this problem seriously, and worship their god of political correctness, they will be steam rolled and inadvertently complicit in the creation of ultra right wing parties and views. A country cannot absorb 2% of its population in a single year from wildly different cultures than its own and not expect a back lash. Sweden's leadership is mad.

Good luck!

Despite, or rather due to recent racial tensions in France, a campaign calling for everyone to wear the Jewish kippa gained ground on social media Wednesday.
Spread largely on Twitter and joined with the hashtag "#TousAvecUneKippa" (everyone with a kippa), the campaign featured photoshopped images of recognizable public figures wearing the skull cap - from actor Brad Pitt to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Many of the tweets specifically called on members of the general public to wear a kippa on Friday at 10 A.M. in solidarity with the Jewish community in light of recent attacks that have unnerved local Jews and spurred calls from a few community leaders to leave the skull cap at home as a matter of saftey.
Representatives of the Jewish community of Marseille issued conflicting statements on the controversial calls to abandon the kippa in public.
Tzvi Ammar, president of the local office of the Consistoire, the French Jewish community’s organization responsible for religious services, began the public debate on Tuesday when he by Le Figaro as saying Jews should “remove the kippa during these troubled times” because “the preservation of life is sacrosanct.”
But Michele Teboul, president of the local branch of CRIF – an umbrella group that represents French Jewish communities politically as a lobby – told JTA that she “could not support a measure which dials back hundreds of years during which Jews were able to practice their faiths and live freely as citizens of the French Republic.”
Jewish individuals “should decide whether to wear a hat on top of their kippa, depending on the situation, but removing one’s kippa seems unwarranted,” Teboul said.
Ammar’s statement, which he said “turns his stomach” and is born of “grave circumstances that require extraordinary measures,” came after the stabbing of a Jewish man in Marseille on Tuesday, allegedly by a 15-year-old Muslim radical. He sustained minor injuries.
In November, a Jewish teacher was stabbed and seriously injured by a man who hurled insults at him along with two other men, one of whom was wearing a T-shirt with the logo of the Islamic State terrorist group. The previous month, a Frenchman of Algerian descent stabbed a Jewish man who was returning from synagogue and assaulted two others, including a rabbi.
Marseille has 80,000 Jews in a total population of approximately 850,000. About a third of its residents are Muslim, according to estimates

When Judith G. helped out at a refugee center near Frankfurt last October and identified herself as Jewish, she was spat on and insulted.

German Jews say the case of Judith G., a 33-year-old optician who asked not to be fully named, isn't isolated and underlines concerns many have about the record arrivals of asylum seekers, largely from Muslim countries in the Middle East.

Official figures show German-born far-right supporters commit the vast majority of antisemitic crimes in the country, and Muslim leaders say nearly all asylum seekers - who can be targets of hate crime themselves - are trying to escape conflict, not stir it up.

Nevertheless, Jews across Germany are hiding their identity when volunteering at refugee shelters for fear of reprisals, adding another layer of complexity to a social, economic and logistical challenge that is stretching the fabric of German society.

"Among the refugees, there are a great many people who grew up with hostility toward Israel and conflate these prejudices with hatred toward Jews in general," Josef Schuster, president of the Central Council of Jews, told Reuters in an interview conducted in October.

Chancellor Angela Merkel stressed last week that antisemitic attitudes among some young people arriving from countries where "hatred toward Israel and Jews is commonplace" needed to be dealt with.

The safety of Jewish communities is particularly sensitive in Germany due to the murder of over 6 million Jews by Hitler's Third Reich, which is marked on Wednesday by the international Holocaust Memorial Day. Today, the German Jewish community numbers around 100,500.

According to a 2013 study by the EU Agency for Fundamental Rights, 64 percent of German Jews avoid the public display of symbols that would identify them as Jewish. It also found that only 28 percent of them report antisemitic incidents.

Such incidents, as recorded by the Interior Ministry, dropped in 2015 but Jews still remember chants by young Muslims proclaiming "Jews to the gas" on German streets in protests against the 2014 Israeli-Palestinian Gaza War.

Concerns rose earlier this year when two suspected asylum seekers from Syria and Afghanistan attacked and robbed a man wearing a skullcap on the northern island of Fehmarn, a crime the local prosecutor treats as antisemitic.

"We don't approach the issue of refugees with negative expectations in general," said Walter Blender, head of the Jewish community in Bad Segeberg, a town on the mainland about 100 km (60 miles) from Fehmarn. "But we are very worried and skeptical, and anecdotal evidence so far showed that we have reason to be scared."

Yes, hatred against Jews is still very much prevalent in the 21st century, and as I told Marvin, not only more prevalent than the isolated incidents against Muslims, but in fact, Muslims are a big part of this hatred and bring their prejudice against Jews everywhere they go.

Ironically, Germany is still reeling from their hatred from WWII and it has shaped the culture to such a degree that they are so unwilling to speak ill of anybody that they will even allow in thousands upon thousands of people who actively hate jews. And they do this lest they offend the people who hate those jews.

Good luck!
