Departure not showing up on the CBP I-94 website!!

I was in the US in 2012 for a month for a summer term. I have not been to the US since.

Recently I have started with the process of applying for an H1B, and went to https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov to retrieve my former I-94 number. On this I only have the entry and no departure recorded. Is this something I should take some action about? Appreciate all the help. Thanks

Did you give your i-94 to the airline check in counter upon departure?

I do not remember exactly since it was way back in 2012. But I guess so - would they even allow without me giving them the I-94? Will this no-record have any bearing on any future visa applications - with a different passport number?

Although the departure is there, you can only see full records while in the U.S. Therefore , the latest departure will not show up when you log into cbp. from a foreign country. Do not worry, am sure it is there. If not, I still would not worry as my brother in law is missing one departure on his and was admitted with no problems when he came to our wedding last summer.

@newacct,@tarzan31 - Thank you for the advice. So should I contact the US Consulate in Bombay to get this corrected or should I just go ahead with H1B application?

@tarzan31 - Of the 15-20 people I have spoken with no one had had this issue. Did your relative also have no departure record on the CBP website?

I've made around 10 departure/arrival international trips and the website only shows 3 records. I don't think they put everything on the website.
