Hey everyone,

I am an American citizen living in Australia with my husband. I am receiving a job offer in the United States and want to get the I-I30 expedited for my husband so we do not have to spend a year apart. Are there any tricks or tips to help us make sure he can get his visa expedited? Has anyone had experience with this? We are on a massive time crunch and need as much help and ideas that we can get.

Thank you ahead of time!

You can search for expedite reasons and if you qualify, you can always put in an expedite request. The worst they can say is no! Edited by FN&KO

That is not really a compelling reason for an expedite. But, it cannot harm your petition or delay things to request it.

On the official site (the above link) it states that if an American living abroad receives a new job in the United States, then you are able to have the visa for your spouse expedited at the Sydney American embassy instead of having to go through Chicago!

We know that it is a option but we are wanting to see if it's happened to anyone before and the likelihood of it working for us.

Silly visas!

That's DCF and sure take it. You would be done probably in 3 months if not less. Do it now. Good luck.
