Ok so my fiance is currently working on a cruise ship in the US on a c1d visa. I have many questions about this process especially concerning the switch of visas for him

1. Is he eligible to apply while still working on the cruise ship under the c1d visa?

2. Once I submit my forms I know he'll be able to finish his cruise contract, but would anyone with experience in this issue recommend going on another contract while awaiting his interview and physical? Are you able to schedule these appointments at your convenience or do they give you a day/time.

Maybe it's no big deal but we really don't wanna mess this up and i can't seem to find any specific answers online

THANK YOU!!!!

You are eligible to apply, so yes.

I assume it depends how long his new contract would be for.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

it would be for 6 months but if all goes well then he could leave early to go home to interview.

thanks!

When would he have to sign it?
