im getting married in March which will be 82 outve 90 days into my fiancee visa and have to adjust my status to permanent resident, how soon after getting married do we have to send in the forms? i am getting married on a saturday so I dont think i can go get my certificate until the following monday which we will need for the permanent residency forms, does it matter the time length after you get married and do they need your adjustment forms before that 90 days ?

hi

no, you just need to be married within the 90 days

there is no timeframe to send the adjustment of status, the sooner the better, but you don't need to send it immediately before the 90 days

make sure everything is ok, that the forms are filled out correctly, payments sent, evidence that you are sending

take your time to do it right the first time

I agree with Aleful, worry about the wedding first, then start working on the AOS. It is a good idea to file as soon as you can and you have the package ready so your spouse can start the path to permanent residency, but there is no deadline.

Enjoy your wedding and Good Luck!

Agreed. If your medical hits 1 year though and you still haven't filed, you will need to do another medical. Other than that, can file for AOS anytime (and file AP and EAD along with it so its free)

I wouldn't rush it but I wouldn't wait either. We waited 2 months to file AOS after the wedding because we moved to a different state right after marrying. The wedding was in August and we filed in early October. We had a wedding party in between and moved out of state so we waited to gather evidence. We got RFE'ed and got the EAD right after Christmas and the green card was approved last week without an interview, the whole process taking 5 months, because we waited for 2 of them. The sooner you file the sooner you can work.
