I would think because of recent events you have a very steep hill to climb. I don't know how much extra evidence you could have other than what was previously mentioned. Are you two going to meet up again before the interview? Just from the very little information you've given us I'd think this will be a very difficult process for you two.

Hello. First of all I'm youssef from Morocco .I'm posting this nd I'm hoping to get answers . I'm youssef nd I'm born in 1996 I met my wife since 2012 and then we decided to married last year my wife from South dakota we are filling out the I-130 form but the problem is difference of age the age gas is 27 years old a lot of people telling me to stop process becouse of age they saying I will get dined I don't know what to do I'm lost please help me. And thank you all

Salam Br Yousef,

Based on the information you have provided you have a steep hill indeed. Some things to consider, you mentioned your wife has visited you 3 times-how long were those visits? How did you initially meet? Who was at your wedding-how many guests, was your family there? Has your wife spent time with your family-especially your parents? Also, I would strongly suggest you read the embassy reviews for Morocco. Although you do not need to explain to us things like child bearing issues, you should be prepared that during an interview they could ask how you plan to handle not having children or things of that nature.

Best of luck

That's going to be tough, the age gap is one thing, then it is against traditional norms with the woman being the older, and then the biggest problem I think they will see is that you met her when you were 16, and you are still barely an adult in U.S. standards. I would be shocked if it got approved, but anything is possible. I wouldn't worry as much about the muslim thing, unless you do a lot of traveling to other countries.

Does she have children? Do you? If not, are you willing to give up the ability to have children? People love to say age is just a number, but in fact there are ramifications that come with these relationships. I'm NOT judging by any means. My fiance is younger than me but we have discussed family, finances, children, religion, cultural issues, careers, life expectations....all at great length. You don't need to answer here, just be prepared. This is what the embassy will scrutinize.

So you have an age gap of 27 years, she being older than you which goes against the cultural norm of your country. You met when you were a kid and she was in her mid-40's. You only met once before getting married. You have only met twice after your wedding. And you are of different religions. Do you know each other through family or how did you actually meet? That might be important for your visa case.

I have to say, I think you have a lot of hurdles to overcome with US immigrations. You have to really front load the petition from the get go. Lots of pictures of you and her together, pictures of meeting each others families. Passport stamps of her visits to see you. Evidence of potential trips taken together. Loads of emails/chat logs/phone records etc, basically pump in proof of how and when you communicate with each other. Do you guys own anything together like a bank account, property etc? If so, then that's great proof as well. Honestly, in your case, I would look into the possibility of your wife coming to spend some quality time with you in Morocco for a longer period of time. Is this possible? Personally, I think that would help strengthening your case, as well as your relationship.

Honestly, I say you have a tiny chance....I mean you met her, who was old enough to be your mother, when you were 16. I can do some math on your ages and the gap and it puts her in the mid 40s, meaning she can't give your children and you and I both know in Maroc that children are blessings and expected. And that even an age gap of a few years is frowned on, let alone someone possibly the same age as your mother and aunties, it's as we say shooma in Maroc and that means it's culturally abnormal. If it's not normal the embassy knows this, and you have to overcome it...how, by evidence from day one....but...

Sure you could provide proof of how you met and go back the start but you were a child by American law. Could she be looked at as a child molestor and predator? I don't know. But it's worth thinking about on a big picture if you do or do not wish to continue this journey.

Did you have a traditional wedding? Not a cheap, let's go to the court type affair but the real one that your family should have paid for, with 7 dresses, henna party, and before this did you have a formal engagement? If not, it looks stranger still. If you two got married in the USA it could be better looking for having a small wedding and saying a big one in Maroc will happen when we go home. I just don't know

When I was 16 I met her and we were just friends then we met in 2015 and got married so one time before married nd second twice after married that's could be enough?

I'm Muslim but she is Christian

I don't think your evidence will be strong enough to overcome the age gap. It will be better and much easier if she moved to your country.

It saddens me to see people telling you what Allah has control of in the final say. So I never put my age on this site because age isn't going to stop what is REAL!

I am Muslim and he is Muslim so that is a plus. You are Muslim and she is Christian and that is allowed in Islam for the man only. So that is a plus. You both have faith which can pull you through tough times.

I will tell you something that my fiance said to many people when they ATTACKED us regarding childbearing: He said, "Only God can give you children. Two twenty year olds can marry and never have

kids so does that mean they won't stay together?" And I added that in today's world Allah gives us many ways to have the opportunity to be a FATHER figure. I live in an inner city town where most kids

don't have live at home dads. So BIG Brothers and BIG sisters might be a good outlet to use your fatherly skills. Also, adoption might be possible but I've heard some Imam's say it was hard if you wanted to use

your sperm but another women's eggs or vice versa since that might be considered Haram. But let's focus on the positives: If grandchildren might be in the picture, here is another way to fulfill the desire to father.

There are orphans, there are homeless, there are foster programs and all of them need fathers. So this might be some good arguments to bring up in the interview IF this seems like an issue for them.

As for fraud with age differences, if we were marrying someone in the USA no one could say anything to us EVER! Well maybe they could say it, but the government would never stop it as long as you met the legal

age of consent laws. I even remember seeing that 58 year old guy and the 19 year old girl from the Philipines on 90 Day Visa and they made it ultimately. Stay positive and pray Dua to Allah. Put all of your faith

in Allah and not in VJ but I know that we want immediate confirmation that we are on the right track.

Keep in mind that this fiance visa was intended to allow US citizens to MARRY who they want to marry! So stay firm to that. You love this woman. Speak of all the good she is to you without regard to her age or her childbearing abilities.

You could also pull the Khadija card on them and say that our very own Prophet (peace be upon him) married an older woman and it was one of the most blessed unions in this world. You can argue with that one and it was

blessed by Allah.

I wish you luck. My fiance met a few people at the doctor the other day and one man had the same interview date and there was a women too. Maybe it was your fiance. :-) Stay in touch, inchallah!

I hate to tell you but Islam isn't supreme in Morocco. Culture is. And the "Khadijah card" will not get what you think it would because you don't see many older woman younger man couples at all where both are Moroccan, meaning it's not so socially acceptable among locals. It's not meant to be rude. It's just hard truths. I've been Muslim for 15yr and in almost all countries their culture tops any faith. Of course according to Islam this shouldn't happen but it's the world of today.
