Hello,

My wife came here on the K-1 visa and we have already had the permanent residence approved and received the new green card. However, her brown Philippines passport she used to come to the US has expired. We currently live in Texas. Since we have not gone through the naturalization process yet, how do you go about getting another passport?

Thank you for any help with this

You would need to get a new Philippines passport via one of their embassies or consulates, IF you want to renew it; if no travel is panned, you could just leave it till she is ready for naturalisation.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

Hi! Did you happen to reacquire Philippine citizenship and apply for a passport on the same day? Will they let you do that?

Thank you for the information that sure does help, especially with not having to travel to the consulate in California.

After reading the document, I noticed we have an additional step to do - report our marriage to them for a name change. I see since our marriage has been over a year ago we need to fill out an "Affidavit of delayed registration of marriage" which shows notary location of California, I wonder if this can be done both in the same day at the outreach instead?

I can't believe I let this one slip by... seems its going to be such a pain now.

You might want to call the Consulate (I think I'm going to call them about my question as well) to see if they would let you do it on the same day.

If they don't and your wife really needs her passport, she can probably opt to just renew her passport with her maiden name then amend it later after you've filed the Report of Marriage.

No, I'm not a Philippine citizen yet. I renewed my passport i think 4 years ago. I just know that the outreach is a yearly basis because my parents are still Filipino Citizens and they had renewed their passport last year.

Thank you for replying! ^_^ I think I'll call the Consulate sometime this week and ask if they'll let me reacquire citizenship then apply for a passport on the same day. :)

The info you shared about the outreach really helped! My husband wasn't looking forward to the drive to LA lol - thankfully there's an outreach closer to us :D

Please let me know what you find out if you call. I'll try and call too when and if I can get a chance.

Thanks!
