NVC sent file to HCMC consulate on Dec 29, 2015 and my fiance still hasn't received anything yet. It has been more than 3 weeks. Why it is taking so long? Is this normal? Should I contact HCMC consulate to inquire about the status? VN postal system is also unreliable.

Keep calling the nvc. We never had our appointment letter by mail. And if I didn't call we would have 3 days before the appointment. The letter delivered by mail came after my wife arrived to the states LOL. So call them often. Not much you can do here but wsit. GL

I just submitted the inquiry about the K1 application to the HCMC consulate. I will update when I get a response.

The reason that I am concern is because Bo & June is only 4 days ahead of me with NOA2 but they already have an interview date on March 29 while my fiance hasn't received anything yet.

My fiance received the letter today just as I contacted the consulate. For my inquiry, they told me that my email address is wrong so they can't disclose any information to me. I am not sure why but I have been receiving updates with NOA1 and NOA2 with the same email.

You should go online and fill out the DS160 now then print the deposit slip for your fiancee to pay her Visa fee. Then you can come back in 24 hrs and schedule her interview appt. That is if you have not already done the DS160.

I have a few questions:

I included form I-134 (Affidavit of Support) in my application, is this similar to DS160?

I included my fiance's original birth certificate in the application, does this mean that she can ignore the request for birth certificate?

I submitted 2 of my fiance passport photos in the application, does she have to bring new photos?

She is single and have never been married, this means she doesn't need any document to prove her marital status, right?

Many thanks,

No, the DS160 is the application for visa.

She will need to submit everything that they ask for in the Packet 3 Instructions sheet, including those that you have already submitted with the original I-129F.

If she has never been married then she does not need the single status certificate (aka Marriageability Certificate) from the Vietnam gov't. I asked my then-fiancee to get one anyways just to be sure.
