It is hard but try 6 years of this

We all get frustrated and there is little we can do to / it is hard that someone else controls our life and future

it has been worth it now that Adil is here

things have gone fast now

SS card in 10 days

green card in a month of POE

job and driving license

Hang in there and get to know everything about each other / that helps in interview

don't take out your frustration on each other / vent to a friend

Best to you

We had our interview. Then had to go back for a second interview. Then got a one year ban. Then needed a waiver for inadmissibility. Been waiting for our visa since 2014. So yes I understand the not knowing. The not being able to plan. The being apart.

Many of us know. God Bless Us All.

The waiting sucks and the US immigration process is way too long and too complex for married couples, whether you're doing the CR/IR-1 visa or the fiance visa with AOS.

My husband and I are coming up on 17 months of our visa process now, so we know all about the waiting and the stress of all the forms etc. But what keeps us going is planning our future life together once I get my visa, so try that. Try thinking about your future home together, prepare a US resume for when you're gonna start looking for jobs in the US etc. Keeping your mind busy on other things usually makes the wait a little easier.

I agree, it's very stressful waiting. The hardest part is just not knowing a firm timetable; but the whole process is about people, and done by people who have to look at all your (and thousands of others') paperwork, and make a decision...so it does take time. It's worth it, so hang in there!

This visa process is sooo stressful!! There has to be something done still waiting since Nov 30 just needed to vent

Hi Chandralima,

While I can understand your frustration in waiting for the K1 visa, you have only been waiting for under 2 months..sorry don't mean to sound harsh but you need to know that this immigration journey is a very long process from K1 all the way through to citizenship so unfortunately you will have to get used to waiting on USCIS for every single application that you file.

In the meantime, start doing your research to see what will be the next step in your immigration journey. This way, when you go to apply for that next round of paperwork you will be prepared and there won't be any surprises coming your way.

When I went through K1, I thought that it was taking super long but looking back it went super fast. I would say that my ROC application took the longest (almost a year) out of all the paperwork that I have filed so far.

Good luck in your journey.

Like others have said, keep yourself busy. Don't stop living just because you're waiting on a petition. Like the poster above me said, familiarize yourself with the next steps. You will really learn to be more patient throughout the whole process because it doesn't stop as soon as you enter USA. There is MORE to the immigration process and MORE patience will be required.

It's good to vent once in a while too. Keeps you from going insane. You WILL get through it, just hang tight. The whole ordeal will be worth it once you see your partner again. Next time you see them, you will be with them for good.

I am crying ok im sick of waiting im going insane!!!! When the interview was over they said we dont no yet go home no papers given nothing and two monthes later my status still says ready for interview

When was the last time you called the embassy for an update? Unfortunately, nothing we do or say will make you feel better. The only factor you can control in this is yourself. When you're done ranting and crying, make yourself busy while waiting. You will only make it harder on yourself if you keep focusing on this all day everyday. Be strong.

Like moemac59 said, this is just the beginning of a long process. There is a lot more waiting to come, along with a lot more paperwork and frustration. We used the time to research the next step in the process so we would be prepared. Stay strong, the immigration journey is not for the weak!
