I'm about to file I485, 131, 765. Do I have to send 3 g1145? or one is good enough?

Only in the I-485 ( as 131, 765 are filed together with 485 ) and I-130 form if you are filing this too.

I am filing 3 separate forms, one for I-485, one for I-131, and one for I-765, as these packets get separated upon arrival in Chicago. I have heard, however, that people have submitted only 1 e-notification for the entire packet, and everything was fine, but in my opinion, more is better.

From the Form G-1145:

Complete the information below and clip this form to the first page of your application package. You will receive one e-mail and/or text message for each form you are filing.

REF: http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/g-1145.pdf

Filing one (1) Form G-1145 with your AOS package will suffice, submitting multiple copies is not necessary.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

The Form I-797C, Notice of Action (NOA1) is the official USCIS payment/application receipt. When filing AOS/EAD/AP applications it is customary to receive three (3) Forms I-797C.

REF: https://www.uscis.gov/forms/form-i-797c-notice-action

The email/text document generated from a Form G-1145 filing with your applications/petitions is simply an acknowledgement when USCIS received your form. There is no personal information included on the e-form, that is why it is important to receive the mailed Form I-797C, Notice of Action (NOA1).

  • E-Notifications do not include any personal information, including your name, because email and text message are not secure ways for us to transmit this information. The notification will list your receipt number and tell you how to obtain case status information.

REF:https://www.uscis.gov/g-1145

You can fill out as many Forms G-1145 as you like. However one (1) Form G-11145 will suffice.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

I am filing multiple concurrent forms but would like to include just one G-1145. Whose contact info goes on the form, the applicant's or the petitioners? (The packet contains different forms signed/submitted by different people, so I'm not sure which one to choose.)

Take the opportunity to review Form G-1145. This is one of USCIS more straightforward forms. Here are some questions to help you determine your course of action.

Whose info is it asking for? If you respond, "applicant/petitioner" (as stated on Form G-1145), you are correct and win a prize. In other words, it is of little consequence, except  I would suggest that you list the person who has a viable and accessible email address.

What is the purpose of Form G-1145? If your response is the similar to the statement I made in my January 2016 posting above, "The email/text document generated from a Form G-1145 filing with your applications/petitions is simply an acknowledgement when USCIS received your form," you are correct again and win another prize.

Now, you ask what are the prizes?  Well of course the prizes are finally being with your loved one(s) and still having to deal with USCIS for a few more years.

BTW, rather than trying to resurrect an over three year old thread, you stand a better chance of getting an appropriate response by starting a new thread. I peek in very infrequently, most old-timers just get on with their lives. Good luck on your immigration journey.

Thanks, Pitaya. I'm sure you can recall the feeling of not knowing exactly how to read a form and being nervous about it :)

Btw, I wasn't sure whether to start a new thread because i was afraid people would tell me not to create new unnecessary threads when old ones exist on the same topic. I will focus on new threads from now on, if it is more efficient and useful.

USA_Vietnam, did you submit 3 forms or just 1? I am currently filling in I-485, I-765 and I-131 forms! (And do I attach the I-864 Affidavit of Support now or wait until they ask me for evidence?)

Thanks!
