Anyone have any recent experience dealing with the Phil Consulate office in Chicago?

We'll need to accomplish a passport renewal and name change in a couple of months and am debating whether to fly rt on the same day, do an 11 hour rt drive the same day, or split it up over a Fri/Sat or Sun/Mon.

I know the workload varies from day to day but just wondering if a renewal is a 30 min event or a 6 hr event.

Any thoughts?

Looks like I should plan for a 2 day mid-week trip.

When time gets closer I'll have my wife call to confirm we should plan for an overnight stay vs 1 day plane trip.

Most Consulate's have an outreach program where they will either be in your city or will be within a closer driving range. Contact them to see how to get a copy of the schedule. I searched the Chicago Consulate website but couldn't find it.

ya, chase the outreach program, as they turn-around on things that yer chasing much much faster.

They might not have outreach schedules in the near future. Best plan for a 2-day affair, you know how inconsistent the quality of service is when it comes to the Philippine government.

drove there with wife from Kansas city to report marriage and get some forms notarized for my stepdaughter and to renew passport ,all was done fairly fast got there late morning and was done right after lunch 100000 percent better than in Las Angeles was back on the way home to kansas before 2pm
