Can I schedule the medical if/when I receive the case number from the NVC?

The beneficiary will most likely have to go through the sputum test so we want to get the medical (and therefore the sputum test) started

as soon as possible.

We haven't received our NOA2 yet but I am trying to plan ahead.

If we can schedule the medical earlier by calling NVC and trying to get a case number after the NOA2 that would be great.

do not do this untill you know case is gone from NVC

reason:

if you get visa, you must travel to US within 6 months of the medical exam

if case is several months at NVC, you are limiting your time to travel and may require a second medical exam

Unless something has changed you can't schedule it with just the NVC number. You need to wait till your case reaches South Africa. When it does then you will receive a list of doctors you can use and information about scheduling the medical. I also remember having to have an interview date before I could get the medical scheduled.

You can't schedule with just a case no. When booking the medical appointment they ask for a copy of your Embassy Appointment Confirmation letter. The lady also said to me that all medicals have to be done 10 - 15 days before your interview date.
