I-864 requested, does my lawyer have to be on it?

My husband had his interview yesterday and they told him to bring a joint sponsor. We have a lawyer who up to this point has done all of our filing for us (as the preparer), do you know if we need to include the lawer on this i-864 or no need. We don't want to deal with the delay that it will take the lawyer to fill this out for us -

Probably not, if you read the instructions thoroughly for the I-864 and look at a copy your lawyer has already filled out then it shouldn't be a problem.

Just make sure your joint sponsor earns enough to sponsor. Use this as a guide: http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-864p.pdf

The lawyer already proved that they are not competent because they sent you in unprepared. No reason to use that person again.

Have the joint sponsor complete the form and supply all needed information.

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal

I technically do make enough money, but it was because I obtained a job IN ADDITION to running my freelancing business. I got the job in Aug, so my 2014 tax return did not reflect the new income, despite all of this being mentioned in the affidavit, as well as NVC having paystubs and a letter of employment, the person interviewing asked my husband for a joint sponsor - we really don't know why because like I said I meet the income requirements.

having said that, yes I am pretty unhappy about the law firm's performance, but thankfully I paid them a flat fee to see us through all of this. I just wanted to make sure that for some reason their names aren't required to be on the forms throughout the case. Thanks for confirming what i was thinking
