where does all of the apathy come from? I mean, even the lawyers say no hope. So, a citizen has to be rich to challenge the law, that's disgusting. I'm sure even people working within the government wish the laws for drugs were flexible. Zero tolerance defies human nature. Zero tolerance for drugs is a zero tolerance for humanity. It makes no sense.

The apathy comes from the zero tolerance, they mean it and the lawyers know it. Being rich in the US (and the world) opens many doors for people that would otherwise be closed. Most everything takes money, especially fighting the gov't.

I can't wait to be attacked for this, but a zero tolerance policy discriminates against responsible citizens.

The key word here is citizens. The US government has no obligation to let non-citizens in.

Yes, our war on drugs are completely wacky,

I'll go further than that - it is evil. The laws are used to incarcerate and destroy the lives of some of our most pitiful people - drug addicts.

An addict agrees to carry or hold drugs. Gets arrested. Does not or cannot give the prosecutors what they want - goes to prison for 20 or more years.

Think of the story of Lazerus at the gate. Woe onto us who persecute our weakest and most helpless..
