Hey everyone,

today I received my passport in the mail.

My husband (US-citizen) is coming to visit me and my family on sunday and we'll be flying back to the US together.

I was wondering if we can go through immigrations together?

And what is the process like when I arrive at the POE (Atlanta)...

Unfortunately we have a short layover in ATL (2 hours 13 mins). Is that enough time for me and husband?

TIA

Hey everyone,

today I received my passport in the mail.

My husband (US-citizen) is coming to visit me and my family on sunday and we'll be flying back to the US together.

I was wondering if we can go through immigrations together? - He will go through the "normal" way, you will be taken to another place and ask about stuff etc. But he can meet you there.

And what is the process like when I arrive at the POE (Atlanta)...

Unfortunately we have a short layover in ATL (2 hours 13 mins). Is that enough time for me and husband? - If i had to pick i would have 4 hours to give, you will be talking for some time with a officer.

TIA

But best of luck with it all :)

I gave us 3 and half to go thru the process

arrived in Atlanta

1, if plane lands on time, it is 20 minutes to taxi in

2. several to unload

3. Now they have the new inteernational terminal but still took us over 2 hours to go thru / we landed at 7 PM with several other international flights

4. One airport officer told me i could go thru with him / another said no

5. process is easy / not that many questions / just lines can be long

6. questions were were are you going? where will you live? what is your name? and a few more

We went through together, but we had 8 months old twins with us so they probably didn't want to separate us :P

As we were the only major international flight arriving at the time, my immigration stuff (which was mostly finger prints and them checking the package) was done before our lugage arrived on the carousel.

Each airport has different rules. I went through immigration line together with my then-fiancé ( my now husband) with my K-1 visa. One of immigration officers saw then approached us and asked a question if we come together. We said yes, then he asked us go to in the line for US citizen/permanent resident.

Hi Sis Celebes!

OP, as per posts above me, it's really up to the airport people/ CBP officers where they want you to line up. Don't be afraid to ask them, they don't bite.

You can find plenty of Atlanta POE reviews on here: http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/poereviews.php?poe=Atlanta&dfilter=0

Safe travels!
