Well went into Omaha yesterday, both my son, husband and I.

Thanks to wonderful directions from Ktun, we found the place real easily.

The whole experience was a breeze. The staff are extremely friendly and efficient. The only down thing was, no one could really tell me what was about to happen next.

We had to fill in like a survey thing at the end, and I did write I was happy with the staff, but did wish there was some sort of 'follow up leaflet' or a 'what happens next', made me realise that without VisaJourney, I'd be kinda lost....

Anyhow, we had a 11 and 12 oclock appointment, got there at 10.45. After beeping numerous times trying to go past the metal detector.... we finally made it in (piece of advice for that.... dont wear cowboy boots LOL)

We went to the reception desk and had to fill in two forms as to ID ourselves. There we had a bit of a hiccup with my name change, but thankfully I had brought a copy of our filed AOS, which included our marriage certificate.

It was 10.55 by then and within minutes my son got called in. He had to sign his name on an electronic pad and have his dumb fingerprint taken plus his photo. He thought it was all real cool and thoroughly enjoyed it! Bless him....

Then I got called in at 11.10 and got all my prints taken, signed the pad also and my photo was taken.

After that I was told that my EAD would arrive between 1 week and 3 months from now, the average being 1 month. (I sure hope so!)

After that we left, it was 11.20! We both were liked overwhelmed with how quickly it went and how efficiently things were handled!

I hope my AOS interview is as smooth!

Anyhow, checked my files on USCIS today and the day was updated, but not the info.... it says 03/14/06 now... does this mean I got 'touched'?

I am going to be an edge for a bit now waiting for my EAD, I sure hope it comes quick!

02/04/06 - WE TIE THE KNOT :):)

02/13/06 - re-applying SSN - married name

02/15/06 - starting AOS and EAD process

02/18/06 - finally got everything in the post (certified mail via USPS)

02/20/06 - package delivered to Chicago (on Presidants Day??)

02/27/06 - NOA1 for 2x AOS and EAD

03/04/06 - biometrics letters received for 2x AOS & EAD

03/13/06 - biometrics appointment in Omaha, NE

03/14/06 - both AOS and EAD got touched... as a result of biometrics?!

06/09/06 - EAD approved

08/03/06 - AOS interview - APPROVED!

11/05/06 - found out we were pregnant :):):):):):):)

07/09/07 - Gabriella is born 7lbs 4oz. - 20 inch. long - an Angel sent from above

05/02/08 - Immigration again... removing conditions this time....

05/09/08 - My son received his extension letter

05/13/08 - I receive my NOA1 - here for at least another year!

05/28/08 - getting my biometrics done

09/30/08 - GC APPROVED - CARD PRODUCTION ORDERED!!!!!!!!!

Yes, the dates do tend to get updated, but not the info.

09-02-2005 Applications for AOS, EAD, and AP received by MSC

10-21-2005 AOS fingerprint notice for 12-08-2005

11-07-2005 AP approved

12-05-2005 Infopass appt at San Jose office for interim EAD -- Refused, because it is already approved by MSC on 11-07-2005

12-07-2005 Attempt at interim EAD at San Francisco office -- no go. Back to San Jose, where CSO (chief station officer) tells they will contact MSC via email to request permission to issue interim EAD

12-08-2005 Biometrics for AOS and EAD. Having no EAD appt letter was no problem (used EAD NOA)

12-15-2005 EAD arrived in the mail

12-24-2005 Received interview letter; interview scheduled 03-01-2006

01-28-2006 Received replacement SSN card in married name (5 wks since application)

03-01-2006 AOS interview -- approved; received stamp in the passport

03-13-2006 Green card arrived in the mail

maybe it just got updated cos of the biometrics, either that or they are working on it and I might get the EAD soon...boy I sure hope so!

I meant to say that once you do the biometrics, the AOS/EAD dates are updated. It does not necessarily mean that you will get the EAD soon or right away. But at least you know that this step is done and there will be no delay because of missing biometrics (like it was in my case). I'd count on at least 60 days from receipt date, 75 being about average. Good luck!

Really pleased you found the place without any problems, it is kinda tucked away!

Well done, and yes my EAD and AOS were "touched" the day or so after the biometrics. This is a positive thing and the next step along the road completed.

Hope the Interviews go as smoothly!!

16th December 2005 - Sent I-130, AOS, EAD & AP USPS overnight to Chicago Lockbox

18th December 2005 - Received at Chicago 9.18pm.

23rd December 2005 - NOAs for I-130, AOS, EAD, AP!! Didn't expect them that quickly

13th January 2006 - RFE for Medical and additional I-864 info

17th January 2006 - INFOPASS Apt about RFE.

23rd January 2006 - Appointment notice for Biometrics on 10th Feb.

10th February 2006 - Biometrics Appointment

21st February 2006 - Medical. Cost $250 including all blood tests, Td Shot, TB test and Titers for MMR and Varicella.

And it might be touched purely cos of the biometrics, but I still have hope things are moving along nicely.

I just noticed that my sons case finally got added onto the system too, and his got updated also.

So at least its some sign we are on our way!

Lucky you, My husband and I got directions to Jackson, MS immigration office from google maps. They since have built a HUGE building in the MIDDLE of the street that the immigration office is on. So we had to zigzag through a few one way streets (which my husband hates) and find parking (across the street) ^.^ My husband was so inthused. =)

Wow, things are moving right along quickly for you. I can tell you Lake got his EAD card exactly one week after his biometrics, if that helps. Well the timeline is in my signature, so that tells you the exact dates, but I think things are going even more quickly for you, so happy for you.

Omaha immigration office seems pretty quiet in the mornings, the later it gets, they told me, the more busy it is. Can you believe at our interview, we saw the same couple that we saw the same day we got the biometrics, 3 months earlier? I thought that was funny, that they scheduled us the exact same day and times for the bio's AND the interviews! They even "accidentally" picked up our interview schedule letter without realizing it, and the officers had to go chasing them down! :lol: I said something to the effect of "They say guard that letter with your life, and then soon as we get to immigration, someone goes swiping it!"

Good luck on a quick interview, and congrats on the house!
