my friend had his interview on 01/27/2015 and since then his case has showed up as AP. today they called him asking for a second interview on 01/27/2016. he asked them if they want updated medical examination information they answered no.

why a second interview?
what do you think is happening with the case?

Ya, Egypt has had a huge backlog . T countries have a long AP anyway, but add in the backlog in Egypt, well...

I agree a long AP but not a year.
usually it takes a week to a month for the visa to be issued in Egypt

I sorry to hear that about your friend. I guess that's would be a good sign for his case to get approved. The second interview usually comes whenever the CO want to determine something in order to complete the case.

But being in AP whole entire year that strange. Would you please check with your friend if his case was updated during the period of the AP or the last update date still back to 01/27/2015 ?.

he told me the case was updated 2 times 01/03/2016 , 01/21/2016.

his medical records are expeired, they didn't ask him to update his records.
