I imagine there has to be a way to do it. Suppose you weren't even divorced and you and your husband had moved and wanted your transcripts. There must be a way to change your address in their system.

You can call the national number or visit your local IRS office. If you do so, take your divorce certificate with you too. You shouldn't need it, but take it just in case.

You could walk in to a local IRS office and have them printed there as far as I know. But it is just after tax season, expect long lines.

The IO may not even ask you for it.

Do call the IRS and change the address on file and if you don't receive it before the interview, explain the situation to the IO if he asks for it. you will be surprised it may not be an issue. but i doubt he will ask for it.

Are you applying based on 3 year marriage or 5 years? what supporting documents did you include with your application.

My husband's interview with today. It went well he passed and the oath ceremony has already been scheduled for this Friday May 6th. We got there about 10 minutes early but had to wait about 40 minutes past the interview time to be called into the back. He was called back he says the guy was nice. Only asked for his green card and his state ID no other documentation. He asked six questions. Who is the vice president of the United States? Why was the Revolutionary War fought? Who was brought to America as slaves? How many amendments are there to the Constitution? What's the highest court in the United States? Who makes the laws in the United States? He doesn't read a sentence that said Americans can vote at eighteen. And then wrote a sentence that was basically the same thing. The guy told him he passed and asked him if he wanted to do the ceremony that was on Friday. He said yes and was back out in about 10 minutes. Can't believe we're finally done hope everyone here get through this quickly. Good luck to all!!!

Wow, Congrats to him.

So the IO did asked for only his green card and state id?

What documents did he submit with his n-400 application? is his application based on 3 year or 5 year ?

I'm basing this on many cases reported here over the last few years:

If you got your green card through marriage, I would advise you to take anything you used for removal of conditions. Sometimes (not in most cases) they ask you questions to prove that you got your green card legitimately. This happens more often (but still not in most cases) for divorced 5 year applicants who got their green cards through marriage. That's why the earlier tax transcripts are important.

There's a very good chance you won't be asked about your marriage at all, but it's better to be prepared. If your ex husband is the father of your child, then I think that's pretty good proof this wasn't just a "green card marriage".

hello, based on your experience on cases reported here, for an applicant based on marriage who did not have to go through removal conditions (10 year green card), what documents will IO typically ask for at the interview and what questions will they typically ask.

Wow, Congrats to him.

So the IO did asked for only his green card and state id?

What documents did he submit with his n-400 application? is his application based on 3 year or 5 year ?

Yes the IO only asked for his green card, state ID and social security number.

We applied based on the 3 year rule, though we've been married for more than 8 years but only moved to the States a little over 3 years ago. They Audi asked him about a recent trip to Iran but we had expected that it was a non issue since it was 3 days for a coffee fair.

As far as supporting documents with the N400 we basically sent in any and everything they might want. Taxes for last 3 years, lease for our current house, proof of joint ownership of a business, joint bank account statements, copy and translation of our marriage certificate, my divorce decree from a previous marriage, copy of my birth certificate and my passport and maybe some other things I can't remember off the top of my head. If it said or on the form for supporting documents I treated it like an and and included multiple proof. Hope that's helpful.

Haven't noticed anything specific to those cases; in the majority of cases they only ask for the things on the document checklist.

Marriage, divorce, and birth certificates are things that people often forget.
