I actually think those dates refer to the oldest open cases that the office is still processing, not to their average case processing time. If they aren't closing out all of their cases within the target 5 month timeframe, they report the date of the oldest case still open (as of the date reported.)

Well I don't believe the date published by the St Paul MN office as an average. I know numerous people who have filed after that date and already are citizens. It might be our large Somali population here, causes some big issues on name and background checks, causing the oldest cases to take a lot longer. It can't help when you get many cases of refugees from a country that hasn't had a real government in over 20 years.

I agree.. and, that could definitely be a reason for longer delays in your local office.

Getting impatient - saw Akihon's interview notice for the Chicago office last week (congrats!!) and since we're about a week apart in timelines, I was fully expecting a Monday AM text yesterday which didnt come - boo! I am really hoping we hear something this week, my husband's greencard expires beginning of June, so am hoping we at least have had his interview by that date, though our lawyer and the USCIS rep I talked to both assured me that it isn't an issue if his g.c. expires since he's already applied for citizenship. After so many years dealing with immigration though, we are so ready to be done and can't help but be a little anxious! God's brought us this far though, I know He'll see us through this!

There's a huge difference between renewing a 10 year card and getting your first 10 year card from conditional residency. You should be good even if it runs a little long to finish citizenship.

I honestly think that those "processing times" are full of bologne....

According with my office's processing time, february would be processed in Late july...I already have an interview appoitnment. All the people from my local office (this year) they already have interviews schedule

My interview is in a month from today and one of the requirements if you are applying base on marriage, is to bring a copy of the birth certificate or naturalization certificate.

During a moving my husband's naturalization certificate got lost and we recently applied for my n400 using his US passport (he has been a USC since early 90's). So now when they are requesting to see proof, they didn't include the US passport as proof of citizenship.

I read in many many posts that they actually don't request any of the forms or papers they request in the interview letter...requesting another certificate is like 400 bucks...

do you think it could be an issue?

I'm going off the new document list that is in the new n400 instructions. I don't know if there's going to be an issue. Maybe there will be now because they tell you what to bring. I should make copies of my husband's birth and our marriage cert, because I'm bringing the originals.

You should always have copies, so you can show originals but leave them with photo copies if they need it.

Those are the only two things I'm bringing originals for. everything else is copies they can keep if they want.

Good news guys,

In January thread there is 1 guy from my local USCIS office (San Jose) and his priority date is just 2 weeks ahead of mine.

And Today he got "interview was scheduled" email. YAY!!!!!

It means I will get the same email in 2 weeks
