I can see you with an American passport very soon. Congratulations. I don't know if you feel this way, but I feel like that teenager that's about to move out of his parents' house. Lol.

No more USCIS.

That's exactly what I thought! :dancing::dancing::dancing::dancing: I'm so excited! I'm guessing my appointment letter should be in the mail no later than Thursday. Honestly, the email/ text notification should come with the interview date. But I guess the wait is worth it.

I guessing for may 11-15 for my interview and oath ceremony within the same week or between may 16-23 (Hialeah is famous for having oath ceremonies almost every day). Im so happy it worked out for me cause my mom is coming to spend mother's day with me and she is staying until late june so she is going to be able to attend my oath ceremony.

I can't believe how fast is happening!

AHAHAHA you have an idea how I feel!!!! getting my US passport is the #1 in my list for sure. My venezuelan passport expired in october and I dont see myself investing $1200 in a trip to new orleans or chicago just to get it. Besides all my family lives in Spain since 7 years ago so honestly I wont coming back anytime soon.

Being without a valid passport makes me very anxious but fortunatelly the wait will end soon.

Everytime I go to the USCIS I see all this people smiling, happy, and waving their flags I just day dream with the day is my turn!!

But is bittersweet because that means no more visajourney for me, I ve been part of this community for so long, and they helped me throughout everything since the very early steps of my k1 visa. So yes its been 5 years with visajourney.

Although I more than ready to be done with my USCIS journey is like, wait a minute!! is that it? hahahahahahahaha

seriously, I want my passport too. I'm tired of getting questioned at non-US airports about why my LPR card name doesn't match my passport name. I'm just ready to have ONE name now. Really screws up my mileage accounts.

By "screws up my mileage accounts", I mean I'm on the phone with United Airlines right now waiting to speak to an agent about my missing mileage from my recent overseas business trip because I had to fly on my maiden name and my mileage account is in my married name ... and that I now have to declare the trip at my interview.

My passport will expire soon too. One of the things I long for is the freedom of traveling to places I can't like Canada. I tried a few months ago and they didn't let me fly since each airline reverses the right to say "you can't fly sorry". For GC holders starting from May. If you are from Venezuela you'll need a visa. Every time my wife and I go overseas, I stand in line with the rest of the world. I tried to the trick of putting her passport on top of mine and it didn't work. Lol congrats to you all!

Chicago is even faster....Boston still processing Venezuelan passport from august :/ that's why I had no doubt to invest the $680 in this instead of $1200 for an useless and probably unused venezuelan passport.

I understand completely. I can't tell you how many phone calls we've had to make trying to get points from a ticket bought in one name added to the account held under another. The bad part, at least in my wife's case, is she'll still have to use her foreign passport when we travel to visit her family, so nothing will really change.

I agree with you, next step after citizenship is bring my mom here, that's the only close family that I have, and the only reason to travel to Venezuela, other than arepas, empanadas and tequeños lol. Let see how fast Orlando moves

Hah.

That's the other reason I'm applying for citizenship - I know my brother wanted to live in the USA really badly but he didn't manage to secure a visa sponsorship, so he left the USA permanently last August. Putting in his petition will kickstart a long 10-15 year wait, but he can figure out what he wants to do until his priority date arrives.

True story! How many hours I've spent on the phone with airlines and mileage programs because the names don't match!

Say, with the USCIS My Account thing, anybody else having password trouble? It seems like every time I try to log-in, it says the account is locked and forces me to change my password, and now I'm running out of passwords!

Is horrible!!!! specially when I have to go Spain to visit my parents!! my dad has to pay almost 90 euros to get an official invitation for me, then mail it to me and I need to take that damn letter everywhere I go while in Europe. My husband and baby are process super fast plus no questions asked.

The last time we flew back from europe,my husband and baby passed through costumes in a blink while I had to stand with everyone else for almost 45 minutes. They had to wait for me in the car....I was so pissed

I'm the USC and had never heard of USCIS before I met my wife and I am tired of them!

I'm throwing a bye bye USCIS party!! everyone is invited ahhahahahahah

.It did the same thing to me last week, so I changed the password to something new. Of course, I wasn't thinking about that and thought that they sent the interview scheduled notice when I got an email from USCIS on my phone a few minutes later!!!:clock:
