This is probably more of a question for the NYC folks, but I was wondering how important it was to have a State issued ID for the interview (as listed in the required documents). Living in NYC I don't have a need for a driver's license but I do have a city issued NYC ID, which has my photo and lists my current address. I'm curious how critical a State Issued ID is when I already have a passport, green card, city ID, tax form etc. If any one has any insight please let me know!

In my case IO asked for my Green Card only. He did NOT ask my driver's license, my foreign passport, my tax return for 2015 etc.

12/21/2017 (Thursday) Check was cashed. NOA-1 (I-797C) was sent to me by USCIS via USPS.

12/26/2017 (Tuesday) NOA-1 (I-797C) was received.

06/07/2018 (Thursday) NOA-2 was APPROVED. 172 days.

06/11/2018 (Monday) NOA-2 was delivered by USPS to my home address.

06/22/2018 (Friday) Our case was sent to the U.S. Department of State (DOS) for visa processing (NVC)

07/27/2018 (Friday) NVC welcome letter with Case number and Invoice ID number was received by email. (51 days from NOA 2 and 225 days total)

07/27/2018-07/31/2018 NVC website was down

07/31/2018 Fees paid.

08/08/2018 ALL forms and documents were submitted (uploaded) to NVC website.

08/14/2018 CASE COMPLETED (DOCUMENTARILY QUALIFIED)

09/19/2018 Got email with VISA INTERVIEW DATE

In my case IO asked for my Green Card only. He did NOT ask my driver's license, my foreign passport, my tax return for 2015 etc.

Thanks Iwo_Jima. Maybe I'll be fine showing up without a NY State Issued ID. Of course, it'd be good to hear from some NYC folks just to make sure they aren't stricter about this here!

Hey guys,

My oath ceremony is tomorrow!! I'm so excited! It's still hard to believe this is happening!

Do I have to bring expired GC and EAD also, or only my current valid green card?

I'm going to apply for my passport immediately after the ceremony and will have it expedited, because I'm going to Canada on August 3rd, so I can't take any chances!
