Thanks to everybody, the IO started with the civics test the questions that I remember are the following

What Cabinet Do?

When we celebrate Independence day?

For how many years we vote for Senators?

If the president and vice president can't be president who become president?

How many judges are in the supreme court?

I don't remember the last one

After that he asked me questions about the N-400,

Why I moved so many times?

Why I divorced my wife?

How many trips, I made a mistake on the dates and he took notes about it

Why I have been worked on jails and detention centers? I work for a government agency, Ryna should know where 33rd street jail is, I've been there on the good side of the bars lol, also in the courthouse on downtown orlando holding cells

He made me sign a form with my name nationality and certain other things that looks like how the Naturalization certificate will state, He did not made me sign the pictures, also gave me a "Pre-approval" letter stating that I'm recommended for approval, and he make sure that I understand that if I do not receive a Oath ceremony invitation by the end of august I have to make a infopass appointment.

I hope everything goes well

Good luck to all

Congrats! Though "end of August" is discouraging. Did they mention if that was for an administrative or judicial ceremony?

The only reason I ask is that an IO (who we saw the day of my wife's interview but who wasn't her IO) who had given a presentation at one of her library-sponsored citizenship classes said the average time from interview to oath in Orlando was 2-3 weeks (assuming administrative.)

Passport time: Does anyone know how long it takes to get your passport issued if you apply at USPS? There is a $60 fee for a faster processing but I wonder if it's really worth the money.

It looks like normal processing time is running about 6 weeks right now, expedited (for $60) is about 3 weeks. If you don't need it soon, there is no need to pay the extra $60 and it will only expire that much sooner. :)

I know someone who just applied for a passport for his kid at the post office in NYC and got it in just over two weeks. And he did not pay the expedite.

From what I've been reading the stated wait times are anywhere between 4-6 weeks with normal processing and 3 weeks expedited (can be less with proof of international travel within 2 weeks). However, most of the time if you send it normal it takes about 10 days to 3 weeks. It all depends on the volumes they have to deal with. I would say that if it was January it wouldn't be worth the $60 to expedite it but in June it can be a different story. I am going to France exactly 4 weeks after my oath so I am not going to risk it and go with the $60...

I was once renewing my passport, and screwed up and checked the passport card box. I paid for the book and still only got the card. By then my trip was 3 weeks away, and I need to go to Chicago from Minneapolis to get a rush passport. Really kicked myself in the butt for that mistake.

6 weeks is what they say but it depends on the backlog. There is a passport tracker here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/580456-2016-us-passport-card-application-tracker/

Once you become a citizen, check the latest postings there. Looks like they are still processing quickly. We applied for my daughters passport last April at USPS, regular processing. Sent application on 4/26, received passport in the mail on 5/7. It took less than two weeks. Unless you have an upcoming trip that you do not want to risk, go with regular processing.

wow! I just double checked my passport application ;-)

Luckily there is a passport agency 20 mins from where I live so I don't have to go far in case of an emergency. But I'd rather not have to deal with this!

For some reason they had closed the Minneapolis office. Then they opened it again. In fact the woman in Chicago said I was lucky they would have an office in my city next year. I don't know how that made me lucky as I needed my passport right then, not next year and its good for 10.

My passport doesn't expire until 2019 but it's getting low on free pages. Since they no longer allow additional pages to be added, I guess my only option is to renew but I don't want to do so until my wife has her U.S. passport in hand. If she's scheduled for and takes her oath before I get mine back, we'd both be unable to travel in the event of an emergency. I know there's an emergency expedite available at passport agency locations but I don't know how that would be handled if a regular passport application is already underway.

I've never renewed my passport so I am assuming the current one would have to be sent in (to be cancelled) before the new one is issued leaving me with nothing in the meantime.

passports are apparently being processed very quickly right now. Would you really need to travel with less than two weeks notice?

Hopefully not but I've learned over the years that unexpected emergencies happen. I'd just hate for both of us to be out of commission at the same time, so to speak. On the other hand, it is highly unlikely that my wife will take her oath in under 2 weeks so this may be my window.

Things could potentially slow down in 2017. https://travel.state.gov/content/passports/en/passports/statistics.html They issued a record number of passports in 2007, which will be expiring within next year.

Yep. Before that, a lot of international travel could be done with just a DL and US birth certificate. I know my international travel wasn't extensive but I never had a need for a passport prior to 2007.
