Send a copy of your birth certificate and a copy of the passport bio page. Let her carry the original passport. Now she has all the original evidence they may need. It does not appear they've been asking for much though for most people.

Thanks. It's not a huge deal but, like I mentioned, I myself gave the original away by mistake once a few years back and am just a little more "protective" of it these days. I would hate to have it put into her USCIS file, never to be seen again.

The first person was probably willing to help, but the USCIS system was experiencing some difficulties throughout May... some of us even noticed that while checking our case status pages.

The second person is just wrong. Interviews are almost always scheduled for 5 weeks after the online notice. They are supposed to mail the letter within days of that notice. So there is a chance that you've missed your interview. I would schedule an infopass appointment and call and ask to talk to an immigration officer. Tell the first guy that you speak to that you think you've missed your interview because the last guy you talked to just told you to wait.

Yeah... I agree with JimmyHou. I noticed that the case update date was April 28. My wife's was April 29th and her interview is tomorrow. I'd be asking for a Tier 2 agent NOW and/or InfoPass.

Congratulations to all of you that are already citizens or approved and waiting for the big day, I can't believe that my interview is next week. Also I have great news at least for me, When I was moving to my new apartment I found 2011's income taxes, I'm so happy that I found that. Good luck to all

Sibling petitions are kinda like time capsules. File it, forget about it, when the time comes don't be surprised that you filed something 12 years ago. :)

So far so good! :-)

Yep, I meant the 12-23 year (depending on country of birth) wait for a sibling application.

I'm very aware of the wait time :) I'm expecting at least 12 years.

The concern I have, actually, is his ability to get a tourist visa while the petition is pending.

I am glad no one in my wife's family shows any interest whatsoever in living in the U.S. I am so close to being forever done with USCIS that I can taste it.. The only smooth process was ROC and, while the N-400 has gone smoothly so far, I am withholding judgement until the Oath Ceremony is over!

My brother was actually in the US for 7 years before he finally couldn't stay anymore because no one would sponsor a work visa for him in the service industry (understandably). He permanently left the US last August, and was very upset about it.

There is a general quota on family based GCs, then there are per country limits, and on top of that sibling GCs are at the bottom of the preference list. Mexico, India, China, Philippines, Cuba, and Dominican Republic are on top of the number of GC holders list (together they constitute 42% of all GCs). Therefore, expect longer waiting times for citizens of these countries. A 25 year wait won't shock me.
