everytime I call, get only 1 reply that LA Office is currently at time line of Oct-2015.

so I am still under the time line.

but I see others are in same offices, and getting their case going forward quickly.

frustrating, but no choice.

any suggestions?

You're still stuck waiting on being put in line for an interview. People have mentioned that means you're stuck in background checks and I'm assuming it hasn't even been forwarded to a local office yet. Not sure what you can do under those conditions. Did you speak with a tier 2 representative, or just the first person who answered? The first person can't see any more than you can, so they're pretty much worthless unless you don't know how to look up the information yourself.

I talked to tier 2 just now. the guy said he doesn't have information if the background check is done or not.

but he sent a message to field office asking for interview date to be scheduled. and asked me to check back again in 2-3 weeks. and he said that the office's reply might be different than what he's assuming the reply should be.

it was all confusing, but i'm keeping my finger crossed.

I can't believe my wife's interview is in 2 days! She's starting to get a little nervous...

One last question about MY documents that she needs to take under the 3-year rule... Can she choose either my US Passport or my US Birth Certificate to prove my citizenship?

It's not really a big deal but I once accidentally gave away my original, raised-seal birth certificate (instead of a copy as I had intended) and had to go through the hassle of getting another official, raised-seal replacement. Since I won't be in the interview to prevent it, and I already burned myself once before, I'd rather to keep it in its usual, safe place. I just figure it's less likely that they'll keep my original passport by mistake than my original BC. If it has to be my BC, so be it....

And, if she can use my passport instead, do they need a copy for their records (full or data page only) or will they just look at it to verify that I am a USC?

I'm officially an US citizen!!!!!!

I got there like an hour before the ceremony (thank God I did!).... I had to do a line and family and friends had to do another line! It was like 120 people for the oath...started like an hour and half later while they were placing everyone. The ceremony was absolutely beautiful and pretty much quick (no more than 40 mins). I cried like baby (like 60% of the auditorium?).

After that we took pictures, registered to vote and I already have an appointment for my US passport next week!! I'm still in cloud 9...

Congrats!!!!

I have a NOA date of Feb 04... and my case status says...

"On April 28, 2016, we scheduled an interview for your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization"

...And the recording on the status line says i should contact USCIS if I don't receive the notice 30 days after date above. I have NOT received the letter with my interview date and the 30 days have passed. The first person I called said they needed to do a service request, but she couldn't at the time because of some technical difficulty. The second time I called, the guy I spoke with told me I did not need a service request and that this is normal and when they send the mail, they will update the status, to mail was sent or something.

Is there another status change that says the letter has been mailed? It seems weird they would tell us to contact them and when I do, only to tell me everything's normal. I feel like something is wrong.

Call again and ask to speak with a Tier 2 agent. It has been almost 5 weeks and most interviews are scheduled within that timeframe after being notified.

Oath ceremony is scheduled for 6/14 and it is a special one for flag day (I have a separate letter along with the usual form)! It's not held at the federal plaza building but at the New York Historical Society on central park west!

Not sure how different it is going to be from the "regular" ceremony but I am very honored to have been scheduled for that one ;-)

In other words, he wasn't willing to put in a service request until the 9o days had passed. I wonder why they can't see when the background check is complete? Good luck.

Send a copy of your birth certificate and a copy of the passport bio page. Let her carry the original passport. Now she has all the original evidence they may need. It does not appear they've been asking for much though for most people.

The first person was probably willing to help, but the USCIS system was experiencing some difficulties throughout May... some of us even noticed that while checking our case status pages.

The second person is just wrong. Interviews are almost always scheduled for 5 weeks after the online notice. They are supposed to mail the letter within days of that notice. So there is a chance that you've missed your interview. I would schedule an infopass appointment and call and ask to talk to an immigration officer. Tell the first guy that you speak to that you think you've missed your interview because the last guy you talked to just told you to wait.

To add to that, come prepared for the interview during your infopass appointment. There is a chance they may decide to hold the interview then and there.
