Travel Restrictions Qs?

Hi everyone, are there any travel restrictions for my wife who doesn't have her greencard yet (filed I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence back in Sept 2015). She just got her work authorization card a couple weeks ago and has a driving permit.

I am thinking of flying out of state to Washington DC or possibly somewhere in the Caribbean? What proof of identification will she need at the airport.

I don't believe so. I don't see it listed at https://egov.uscis.gov . The latest approval is the work authorization card.

Edit: Oh wait, maybe she did and it's the same as the work authorization card.

A1. The card looks similar to the current Employment Authorization Document (EAD) but will include text that reads, "Serves as I-512 Advance Parole". A card with this text will serve as both an employment authorization and Advance Parole document.

Edit 2: Confirmed. The card says "Serves as I-512 Advance Parole".

Did you file the I131 at the same time as the AOS and EAD? If so you should have no issues assuming you already have the AP card, but if not and you don't have an AP then don't leave the US. You can travel within the US with no issues, but international travel will bring you loads of problems when you try to re-enter.

I think one still needs a tourist visa (depending on the country requirements) to travel to the Caribbean.

Advance parole will only get you back into US.

Make sure your wife has the proper visa for her Caribbean vacation. You may not need one as a USC, but she might.

Well, at least she's good to return to the USA -

but getting outside of the USA? Must follow tourist visa regs and rules for _those_ countries for Cambodian Passport Holders. Things change when there's a greencard in hand, though, for entry elsewhere - an AP doc usually is not enough.
