'K1' entry on influenza vaccine box

When I had my medical exam (London) it was inside flu season, so I was required to have had the vaccine for it. I had been given a flu vaccine shot only a couple of weeks before, but for some reason my vaccine information from my GP did not include it. The physician at Knightsbridge recommended I get another sheet that included it (which I did, and have with me) and put 'K1' on the Influenza row on my DS-3025, in the column for 'vaccine given by panel site'.

Does this mean I need to see a civil surgeon here in the States? Or is that an acceptable entry?

That is not an acceptable way to mark your immunization form to be excused for the AOS requirements. A separate proof, not on the official form, won't work either. But the good news is, if your AOS happens to be adjudicated when it is not flu season, then they won't require you have one. So hope your AOS approval date or interview falls between April 1 and Sept 30 when nobody requires a flu shot. Of course any given adjudicator on a given day can be not so informed on their manual, or could over look it. You have a chance to get by without it, but no guarantees. Just get it if somebody tells you to is my suggestion.

Just to raise this topic from the dead, if you have everything needed on the DS-3205 and you're within a year of your medical, do you need to include the I-693 form in your AOS package at all?

It means nothing official and the technical instructions for Panel Physicans don't tell them to do that. It's just a "thing" Knightsbridge does to indicate you are getting a K1 visa so don't need to get complete on your shots before visa interview. It probably is in places where you would need a shot before you can adjust status. Otherwise they would have filled in a shot date.

Theoretically No. But with so many officers across the country who may have varying knowledge that a K1 does not need a new medical and they can approve you if you have all your shots accounted for on the DS-3025, you never know what one might ask for. So no guaranties, but there are hundred and hundreds who did not submit an I-693 and had their AOS approved. Hope you are one of them!
