Hey guys,

I'm a long time lurker on this site and it's helped me navigate the process to bring my fiancee to the US on a K-1 Visa.

I'm filing the i-864 along with the adjustment of status, and on the sample cover letter I've seen the first item is a "I-864 Coversheet (with barcode)". I've been searching for hours and I have no idea where to find this cover sheet. It's definitely not obvious from the form instructions.

I've downloaded, filled out, and signed the I-864 and I have all necessary supporting documentation, but this barcoded coversheet is really holding me up.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

AT

I am pretty sure this only applies to CR1/IR1 applications. I don't remember any I864 cover sheet when we filed our AOS from a K1. Here is a link I found here that might help.

Good Luck!

There is no need for a cover letter for the I-864 as you are sending it with your I-485 and other forms and supporting documentation.

I believe you were looking into info for things that do not apply to your situation. The cover letter with bar code instructions would have been for the NVC process of filing for immigrant visas, such as the spousal visa. You need to be following the AOS(adjustment of status) from a K-1 guide, and not any guides for sending in the AOS(affidavit of support) packet to the NVC.
