Home from work today with pneumonia, and then I got the texts from USCIS!!! Our case was approved today for the Form I -130!! Seemed like it was forever, but it wasn't really all that bad!! We also had our second application that we put in for the K-3 I-129F, and that too was approved. I think I read on here that if the I-130 is approved, then the other one would be closed... but maybe they just don't do that yet or something...?

We are very happy though. Gonna work getting everything else in order now. I just wanted to share the great news with you all!! :joy::joy::joy:

I feel great and a little embarrassed how impatient I was getting, but that is behind me now. Not sure about what I am going to eat with this pneumonia going on over here. But thanks for the congrats! I have read and heard that after reaching this point, then end comes within site (minus any setbacks).

September 10, 2009: Arrived for first meeting in-person!
June 17, 2010: Arrived for second in-person meeting and start of travel together to other areas of China!
June 21, 2010: Engaged!!!
September 1, 2010: Switched course from K1 to CR-1
December 8, 2010: Wedding date set; it will be on February 18, 2011!
February 9, 2011: Depart for China
February 11, 2011: Registered for marriage in Wuhan, officially married!!!
February 18, 2011: Wedding ceremony in Shiyan!!!
April 22, 2011: Mailed I-130 to Chicago
April 28, 2011: Received NOA1 via text/email, file routed to CSC (priority date April 25th)
April 29, 2011: Updated
May 3, 2011: Received NOA1 hardcopy in mail
July 26, 2011: Received NOA2 via text/email!!!
July 30, 2011: Received NOA2 hardcopy in mail
August 8, 2011: NVC received file
September 1, 2011: NVC case number assigned
September 2, 2011: AOS invoice received, OPTIN email for EP sent
September 7, 2011: Paid AOS bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 9, 2011)
September 8, 2011: OPTIN email accepted, GZO number assigned
September 10, 2011: Emailed AOS package
September 12, 2011: IV bill invoiced
September 13, 2011: Paid IV bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 14, 2011)
September 14, 2011: Emailed IV package
October 3, 2011: Emailed checklist response (checklist generated due to typo on Form DS-230)
October 6, 2011: Case complete at NVC
November 10, 2011: Interview - APPROVED!!!
December 7, 2011: POE - Sea-Tac Airport

September 17, 2013: Mailed I-751 to CSC

September 23, 2013: Received NOA1 in mail (receipt date September 19th)

October 16, 2013: Biometrics Appointment

January 28, 2014: Production of new Green Card ordered

February 3, 2014: New Green Card received; done with USCIS until fall of 2023*

December 18, 2023:  Filed I-90 to renew Green Card

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal

Thanks kash!! It's like a huge weight has lifted off of us. We still have a way to go, I know, but having this first hurdle is nice! ;)

Does anyone know if our K-3 case will be closed after it gets to the NVC, or it will just remain open? Because I believe, from what I read, that the K-3 will get her here a lot faster, but will cost more money here to do the rest of the immigration process.

09-01-2015: I-130 NOA1 ( Texas Service Center )
11-10-2015: Case Was Transferred to ( Potomac Service Center )
12-02-2015: Update on USCIS website ( Case Received At Local Office )

03-04-2016: NOA2 ( letter from Potomac Service Center )

03-07-2016: Sent to NVC

03-07-2016: NVC received our case. (that's what they said over the phone, idk how they received it the same day it was sent)

03-17-2016: Case Number & IIN Issued

03-17-2016: Choice of Agent DS-261

03-18-2016: AOS Fee Paid

03-23-2016: IV Fee Paid

03-28-2016: DS-260 Submitted

03-30-2016: AOS & IV Package sent to NVC
03-31-2016: NVC Received AOS & IV Package / Scan Date

04-04-2016: NVC Added AOS & IV Packets to the System

04-28-2016: Case Complete
