Does the fee for the medical exam cover missing vaccinations?

I'm wondering if the cost of the medical exam includes any needed vaccinations - provincial health doesn't cover Hep A & B and the shots are about 90$ for the first dose (course of 3 I know...) Would it be better to wait until the medical to get them done or to get them done at the local dr's before the medical? I'm not sure which center (MTL or Vancouver) we will land in (my fiance is in SK). Is there a difference?

They don't give you shots at the medical exam you will have to do them before you go but make sure you get the proper shots as it all varies by age if your 28 you need your MMR ,TDAP, Chicken pox shot of you haven't gotten the chicken pox plus depends on the month flu shot

Good luck :)

Plus the Medical fee does not cover the shots you need sadly

I don't think you need Hep A (I didn't have it for my medical last week and the nurse said that I was up to date on all my shots)

Hep B if you were in school in the 80/90's they would have given it to you in school. I'm not sure if they are still doing that program.

But if you contact Public Health they will mail you your vaccination records, also visit your doctor's office and ask them for your vaccination records (as public health only had the ones I had up to High School, but my doctor had my booster in her records)

Also if you are going during flu season you need to make sure you have your flu shot. Stop by a Shoppers Drug Mart and get it for free, make sure to keep the paper they give to you after the shot as proof.

You do not need hep A or B. I brought proof of immunity to my medical and they marked it as not age appropriate.

Anyone know about the chicken pox vaccination? I had chicken pox as a child but I don't think I would have any record of it as proof [early 1980's]. I figure I'd just get the pox shot anyways to get that box checked off before my medical.

Yeah, I was asked at my medical if I had chicken pox before and I had, so the dr just made note of it and that's all I needed.
