Hello all,

Today was my wife's interview at Islamabad embassy around 7 everything went well but in the end CO said that they require to do further processing and will get back to her within four weeks time.

She was given a White paper stating that

" Dear Visa Applicant: Thank you for interviewing at U.S Embassy, Islamabad. Your visa has been denied under the provisions of the immigration and Nationality Act.

Section 221 (g) Your case requires additional administrative processing. it is your responsibility to keep embassy updated if your address or phone number changes. We recommend you contact us every two months to check on your status of your case. If you have questions or if you need to update your contact information you should notify.... "

CO kept her passport, We were actually baffled because there is nothing we could think went wrong !

Can any of you tell me how long does it take for them to respond back and if they reject can we Appeal for an interview again?

I mean how to go about it!

Hi,

You did not do anything wrong.

Your wife is from country where there are terrorists. AP is normal for Pakistan. AP is for background check. AP can take a few days to a few years. There is nothing you can do to change this.

There is nothing for you to appeal. You can not appeal the requirement to do a background check.

The only thing you can do is wait patiently.

Best of luck.

Here is my case brother, in your case your wife was given a white slip but they didn't give any slips to my wife and her status shows AP now, what is your wife's status shows in CEAC site?

My wife has interview in Islamabad today, everything went normal except the following:

-She has not asked for the Oath before her interview.

-she was told to collect passport in one month but never given any reason, usuallly they give 10days to collect passport. She requested to collect her passport in two weeks on which the CO says they will try.

-she never heard the CO says any words like congratulations or Approved your visa. But she did herad the CO says something at the end but because of noise she is not clear about it.

Overall her interview was very short and was asked only 3-4 questions , they didn't check any documents except the original BC,original marriage certificate and wedding pictures. After interview her passport was kept, and she has not given any kind of papers(Slips). Soon after her interview her status changes to Administrative Process.

Now we both are worried and much confused about all this , why her status shows AP and the longer time for passport collection.

Is this possible to be put on AP without giving any reason or any Slips?

Anticipating for expert opinions.

Thanks and Pray for everyone who's loved ones are passing through all this.

I believe that your case is almost done. I most of the cases when it goes on the Administrative processing the next status that comes is 'ISSUED'. Your wife's case is almost done. Just wait for the status to change into ISSUED. Congrates :)

If they did not request additional documentation or joint sponsorship, then most likely they are doing background checks. AP can last a few days to a few years and there is no way to expedite it. There is a thread here related to AP that you can join to keep in touch with people in AP. It is a very frustrating process and you can find support from others in AP.

Hey Man!

The status on CEAC says "Administrative Process"

Status update date: changed yesterday from 20 Jan 2016 to 21 Jan 2016.

Yes, she was asked to take the oath! the reason they gave her was that they require further processing and she should only contact them if she doesn't hear back from them!

In my case, CO didn't say approved neither said congratulations neither it has been rejected nor denied!

He didn't use any of those words!

Yes it is possible to be put on AP for no clear reason! because in our case, there is apparently nothing to check!
